Children Between 5-12 Years To Undergo Free PCR Testing- KIA

Passengers at the Kotoka International Airport

Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) and management of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), have released a revised safety protocol measures for travelers, which will now have travelers between ages 5 to 12 years taking the PCR covid-19 test for free.

In the revised update sited by the Vaultz Media, the management said that, the new safety protocols, which take effect from Monday, November 16, 2020, require passengers arriving in Ghana to pay the $150 for the PCR test online.

It also highlighted the guidelines which stated that passengers must not have symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 including body temperature more than 38 degrees Celsius.

The statement also said that, passengers must possess a COVID-19 negative PCR test from an accredited laboratory in the country of origin and airlines who bring in travellers who have not paid for the test online would be fined $3,500 per passenger.

Passengers who test positive upon arrival will however receive further clinical assessment and treatment but passengers who test negative will be advised to continue to observe covid-19 safety precautions, following arrival in Ghana.
