Refrain From Causing Non-Existent Violence And Apprehension- John Boadu to NDC

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Honorable John Boadu has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to refrain from the concoction of the non-existence violence and from causing extreme apprehension amongst the public.

His call is backed by the fact that, the situation is one that the nation has witnessed happening in other countries and as such, Ghana must try its best to avoid this.

Speaking at a press conference at the National Collation Centre of the NPP, John Boadu, further said that, the opposition is free to celebrate their gains but cautioned them to refrain from exaggeration in falsely claiming parliamentary seats which they do not have and not likely to have.

He explained that, their actions seek to ruin a well conducted and peaceful general elections witnessed by the country so far.  

He then called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to exercise patience as the nation waits for the final declaration of the final election results today, at exactly 5pm as announced by the Electoral Commission.

He stated that, for that of the parliamentary results in the various regions has already been declared at the constituency levels.

Moving on to regional parliamentary results collations, he revealed that, their candidates in the Ashanti Region won by a bigger majority with proof from the announced results from the various constituency.

He also stated that, they won some seats in the Bono East specifically Kintampo and Tru-west which the party has never won before and also Upper West Akim.

He added that they made some remarkable wins in the greater Accra Region, Eastern and notably the Volta Region.

Elaborating on how their Information technology team collated the results, the IT director of the NPP for the elections, noted that his team put together a timely and accurate information database for the collation of results.  

“Mr Chairman when you assigned us, you requested for a system that is accurate, a system that is timely and when we talk about timeliness it was speed. We did that but the challenge that we had was speed.”

He commended his team for the good work done especially the regional it team for their continuous support and hard work.

Meanwhile, the electoral commission has issued a statement to the general public and political parties to remain calm and patient as the commission will release the results as soon as they are received.

The Commission noted that, the process of collating election results at all the constituencies and regional collation centers are currently ongoing smoothly.

It further said that, it remains the only legal and sole mandated body to declare presidential results in Ghana.
