Ghanaian artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, known in entertainment terrain as Bulldog has been picked by the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) for threatening His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on UTV over the MenzGold saga.

Bulldog, a Ghanaian artist manager allegedly arrrested fo threatening President Nana Akuffo Addo.

Reports coming in has it that Ghanaian artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, known in entertainment terrain as Bulldog has been picked by the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) for threatening His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on UTV over the MenzGold saga.

It is believed that his arrest, is in direct connection to statements the outspoken artiste manager made with regards to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Contributing to a discussion on the Menzgold saga as one of the topical issues in 2020, during UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, January 9, 2021, Bulldog, who is a known critic of President Akufo-Addo threatened that the President will not finish his second term if he refuses to pay the customers what is due them.

The artiste manager said that the decision by the NPP-led government to hanker down on the activities of the gold dealership firm was the reason customers still have their investments locked up.

While claiming to have invested in Menzgold, Bulldog said President Akufo-Addo will not complete his 4-year-term in office if aggrieved customers of the gold dealership firm do not get their locked-up funds.

He also without any vagueness said that suggestions that customers invested at their own peril hence, cannot hold the government responsible for the inconvenience caused them is unacceptable.

“We’ll get our monies back else Nana Addo will run; he won’t finish his 4 years. I’m telling you. He won’t finish his 4 years,” Bulldog fumed.

Though the host of the show forced him to retract the statement, which he did, the BNI has picked him up to give an explanation of what he said and exactly what he intends to do to the president.

Some attempts to reach Bulldog has proved futile as his phone has been switched off.

Meanwhile, this has brought about a protest on social media as a section of Ghanaians have commenced a #FreeBullDogNow campaign on Twitter as they call on the BNI to set the artiste manager free.

According to the majority of Ghanaians, Bulldog is unfairly treated as Hon Kennedy Agyapong who is the MP for Assin Central threatened to burn down the house of NDC’s flagbearer John Mahama and was never arrested.

Others also advised Bulldog to be careful of the things he says. Below are some reactions from tweeps.

That aside, Bulldog is not the only person to have suffered some consequences for his statements about the President on ‘United Showbiz’ as it appears that some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are not happy with the constant appearance by Bulldog on United Showbiz hosted by actress Nana Ama McBrown.

Apparently, an outspoken member of the party, P.K. Sarpong, had indicated some NPP folks shall stop watching the UTV program over Bulldog’s appearance if Nana Ama McBrown keeps bringing him on the show.

Another sympathizer of the NPP, reacting to Bulldog’s statement threatened that they will make McBrown’s show unpopular.

“We will make the show unpopular” he averred on Facebook.
