“Since it started, they have been able to put it in chronologically order for those of us who do not have any idea about law to follow keenly.”

The Supreme Court of Ghana, is today, 19th January, 2020, having its second sitting to hear the petition from the Former President, John Dramani Mahama, challenging the validity of the outcome of the Presidential election results which took place on December 7, 2020 after adjourning the case on Friday, 14th January, 2020.

Prior to the adjournment, the Supreme Court, granted the Former President his request to have the proceedings of the election petition telecasted live on national television which is being done today.

John Dramani Mahama after amending his petition has presented before the Supreme Court that, the Electoral Commission should admit to the errors its Chairperson made during her 9th December 2020 declaration of Nana Addo Dankwa-Addo as President of the Republic of Ghana.

The amended petition is also pressing the Electoral Commission to admit that, when the percentages of the valid votes cast as against the names of each of the Presidential Candidates as announced by Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, the 1st Respondent on December 9, 2020, are summed up, they would yield a total of 100.3%.”

The amended petition is asking the EC to further admit that, the EC Chair, in her purported declaration on December 9, 2020, stated that the results from Techiman South Constituency were not yet available.

Also, the amended petition is asking the EC to admit further that, Mrs. Jean Mensah, in her purported declaration on December 9, 2020, stated that even if the 128,018 votes of Techiman South Constituency were added to the votes standing to the name of the petitioner, John Mahama, that would not change the results.
