It can be recalled that after the 2020 elections, John Dumelo announced that he will continue his farming, touching lives and helping Ghanaians as much as he can and he seems to be towing in that line. Mr. Dumelo who is very enthused about farming a year ago remarked that, he would create jobs and help the youth if he becomes the Member of Parliament for his constituency. He reckoned that the youth needed encouragement and recognition to realize their dreams and was ready to assist accordingly.

The entrepreneur, businessman and farmer said that he would be able to provide jobs for the youth as well as make them create their own businesses because according to him when he speaks to them, they say: “John, I can’t find a job, but I’ve started small business. What can you do for me?” and Dumelo further said “To be honest with you, ever since I got into farming, I have a lot of youth who’ve also equally gotten into farming and said ‘John you’re the one who inspired me to get into farming’”.

For what it’s worth, John Dumelo on countless occasions, has advised Ghanaian youth to venture into agriculture. According him, agriculture has changed the fortunes of several countries which is a good example for today’s youth to follow. In one of his numerous advises to the youth, he posited that farming is not really about working hard, but rather it’s about working smart.  He also mentioned that it is a very lucrative business, which has its ups and downs and emphasized on the fact that, farming isn’t an avenue to make fast money but it’s an avenue to grow steadily in wealth at the same time “feeding yourself and the nation”.
