Gucci Lady Gaga has revealed that she got pregnant at age 19 after being raped by a music producer and suffered a "total psychotic break" because of the trauma, during a tearful interview.

International superstar, Lady Gaga.

Renowned singer and actress, Lady Gaga has revealed that she got pregnant at age 19 after being raped by a music producer and suffered a “total psychotic break” because of the trauma during a tearful interview.

The 35-year-old award-winning singer opened up about the traumatic experience, and the aftermath, on Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry’s show, ‘The Me You Can’t See’.

“I was 19 years old, and I was working in the business, and a producer said to me, ‘Take your clothes off’, and I said no. And I left, and they told me they were going to burn all of my music. And they didn’t stop. They didn’t stop asking me, and I just froze… I got rapped”

The singer refused to name the producer, explaining she doesn’t “ever want to face that person again.”

It can be recalled that Lady Gaga has previously opened up about taking antipsychotic medication because she struggles with “mental issues” as a result of the sexual assault. She disclosed that the painful memories were triggered during a hospital visit with a psychiatrist.

“First, I felt full-on pain, then I went numb. And then I was sick for weeks and weeks after, and I realized that it was the same pain that I felt when the person who raped me dropped me off pregnant on a corner at my parents’ house. Because I was vomiting and sick. Because I had been abused. I was locked away in a studio for months.”

Lady Gaga says she had a total psychotic break

Further touching on the issue, Lady Gaga revealed that in 2019, even though her career was flourishing with her Oscar win for ‘A Star Is Born’, she was actually going through a “total psychotic break”. She mentioned that she kept feeling the same pain again and also disclosed that it wasn’t physical pain but a mental one.

“For a couple of years, I was not the same girl. The way that I feel when I feel pain was how I felt after I was raped. I’ve had so many MRIs and scans where they don’t find anything. But your body remembers”.

Lady Gaga had previously kept silent about the sexual assault for seven;years, and she first revealed it in a 2014 interview. She revealed in this latest interview with Oprah that she;was afraid to speak up and didn’t want to accept what had happened.

“I didn’t know how to even think about it, I didn’t know how to accept it, I;didn’t know how to not blame myself or think it was my fault. It was something that really changed my life and changed who I was completely. It changed my body, it changed thoughts”.

Also, she disclosed that she initially blamed the assault on herself as she thought she “some inspired the violence”.

“After it happened, I’m like, ‘But what did I do in my life to bring this upon myself? There was some sort of maybe religious guilt attached to it.”

“Because of the way that I dress, and the way that I’m provocative;as a person, I thought that I had brought it on myself in some way, that it was my fault”
