“All that we are looking for right now is justice. I will say it openly. We feel very sad! The entire family is feeling very sad because the boy is not a bad boy. As we earlier mentioned, he was even with you [journalists] protecting you so you can see clearly that he was not a bad person.”

He was however of the view that the armed men were not official military men because;they had no name and number tags on their uniform.

“…what shows that they are from the army?”

He further urged the people of Ejura to also remain calm and not engage in any form of violence so that;the law can take its course in resolving the unfortunate incident.

The unnamed family member a further alleged the gunshots fired were intentional;because well trained armed men are not to carry loaded guns to protest ground. He also backed the claim that the armed officials were not from the Ghana Armed forces.

He further alleged that the armed men were from politically formed vigilante groups sent to carry out this act. He then threatened that the people of Ejura will take justice into their hands if government does not act swiftly.

“We are saying that without justice, there will not be peace. My [vengeance] is from God but you don’t know the means someone else will use.”
