The mission of the school will be to “train and develop talents and the creative abilities of students for the movie and arts industry”.

He further noted that the operationalization of the nation’s premier Creative Arts SHS is expected to commence soon.

“The vision of the government is very clear. That, in promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics, we do not have to leave out the creative arts. The government is committed to diversifying the economy by grooming young talents for the creative arts industry to enhance job creation and poverty alleviation”.

The creative arts industry, according to the Minister, has many prospects for the younger generation. Therefore, the government is committed to investing in the sector to brighten the future of the youth.

“The Creative Arts Center has the potential to become a talent recruiting Centre in Africa. Africa has talents and gifted people, that the Centre is ready to hone skills to become the best in the world”.

More so, Dr. Osei Yaw said the authorities have been monitoring the project to ensure its successful completion.

Mr. Daniel Ohene, Project Coordinator for Messrs Golden Mainland, who guided the delegation for the project inspection, assured of the contractors’ resolve to complete the work as scheduled.

That notwithstanding, the MP for Kwadaso, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, was happy that the school is being built in his constituency and noted that when it eventually opens, it will not only open up Kwadaso to the outside world but also help in job creation in the area.

“There are untapped talents within the country and most especially, Kwadaso. Therefore, the center will help in that regard’’.

MP of Kwadaso

The Creative Arts Industry also has the potential according to the Kwadaso MP “to promote the socio-economic development of the nation’’.

It can be recalled that President Akufo-Addo broke the grounds last year for construction to start on the first ever Creative Arts Senior High School.

The school is being built on a 12-acre land previously occupied by St. Peters’ Preparatory School in Kwadaso in the Kwadaso Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
