Francis Nyarko

“It’s a call in the right direction, and it’s quite innovative. There are a lot of resources in the Region that people may not know. But this fair will bring it out and let people know that there are good things here in Volta to follow.”

Francis Nyarko

Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, who is the chairman of the planning committee for the event, received the cheque and expressed his appreciation to GCB bank Limited for the support. He noted that the fair is gathering momentum as it draws closer. As a result, he opined that this year’s event will surpass expectations. He therefore, pleaded with GCB Bank to maintain the harmonious relationship it has with the business community in the Region.

In addition, Dr. Letsa hinted that the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahammadu Bawumia, would perform the official opening ceremony, which would be attended by all Regional Ministers across the country. He noted that ambassadors from about twenty countries including the US, Netherlands, Israel, and Nigeria will grace the occasion. Meanwhile, he indicated that the President of the ECOWAS Bank is also expected to grace the ceremony.

Rev. Steven Adjah Tetteh, Regional Economic Planning Officer of GCB said the Bank would partake in a forum on ‘agribusiness financing in Volta Region’, which would be held as part of the event.

Interplast Ghana Limited, major producer of plastics, also supported the fair, and would be demonstrating its agricultural irrigation systems at the event.

The Volta Trade and Investment Fair is an initiative of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Association of Ghana Industries.

This year’s fair is on the theme: “Promoting Sustainable Trade and Investment”. It starts from November 15, 2021 to 28th at the Ho Sports Stadium. The official opening ceremony is scheduled on the 17th.

The event is expected to attract over 8,000 visitors from across the country, and it would exhibit the investment potentials in the Region.
