Ghanaian musical artist, Guru, has joined several people who are praising the French Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency (H.E) Anne Sophie Avè, for her remarkable contributions to the creative industry.

According to the musician, the French Ambassador’s contribution to the creative arts industry outweighs the efforts of those who are mandated to ensure that the sector thrives.

Guru in a Twitter post wrote: “Our France Ambassador is working harder than our Creative and tourism ministry. Really appreciate her energy”.

In supporting Guru’s tweet, Ghanaian comedian, DKB, also iterated that the Her Excellency Anne Sophie Avè “has done more for our creative arts industry than the people being paid with our taxes to occupy that position”.

According to him, although the state authorities ensured that all the needed documentations were provided for the event, ‘Accra In Paris’ to happen, the inadequacy of their support for the creative arts cannot be excused.

“Forget them defending by saying they gave documents to support, is it the supporting documents that released a budget to organize it? Big shame,” DKB wrote.

Background of Guru and DKB’s comments

Guru and DKB’s comments came on the back of the maiden edition of the ‘Accra In Paris’ concert held over the weekend. The concert was graced by Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kwabena Kwabena, Fameye, and a host of other musicians and celebrities from Ghana and France.

The event was championed by H.E Anne Sophie Avè who, prior to the program, noted that “this is the first time such a shared cultural, music collaboration will be happening between the two countries,” and further described the event as a “revolutionary structure that stands to create enormous benefits for both countries and its people”.

H.E Anne Sophie Avè Supports Creative Industry

It can be recalled that recently, the French Ambassador to Ghana, revealed at an event, how she was supporting the country’s creative art industry by “opening avenues to harness talents”.

Speaking at the event in Accra, H.E Anne Sophie Avè indicated that her outfit was ready to help empower Ghanaian youth to develop the Ghanaian culture by creating avenues for them to exhibit their talents to the world. This, she noted would complement government’s efforts in creating jobs, building lives, and helping in poverty alleviation.

“I am creating beneficial avenues for people in the creative space, humanitarians, socioeconomic Patriots to better instigate their creative pieces so that they can carry it forward for a sustainable progression. These, in turn, will drastically reduce poverty, dependency on government for employment, redundancy, wastage of creative talents, and in as much help curb social vices.”

It is worth noting that as part of the initiative to contribute to the development of the creative industry, H.E Anne Sophie Avè, hosted at her residence one of the foremost Photography Exhibition and Creative Show which was organized to honor and acknowledge the amazing creative works of one of Ghana’s finest photographers, TwinsDntbeg.
