Those With Grievances Should Address To Dispute Committee- NPP Elections Director

Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party, Evans Nimako

The Director of Elections of the New Patriotic Party, Evans Nimako, has urged the aggrieved party members to direct their issues to the dispute committee of the party.

Reacting to the events which has characterized the ongoing delegates election which commenced today, he stated that in the 275 constituencies, it is only about 25 whose issues have not been resolved.

“So, for those who haven’t had their issues resolved are not going to go ahead. Those with grievances should address it to the dispute committee set up and headed by the Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, so it can be resolved.”

“People may raise concerns but albums were created at the constituency level, copies are with them, copies are with the regional party offices. So, if today, election day, some individuals decide to say our names have been taken out, it’s a concern but it can never be the truth because these are albums that captured polling station executives, electoral area coordinators. They were transported to NPP database and have copies which has been printed and given to the EC.”

Evans Nimako

Evans Nimako indicated that some constituencies have the liberty to choose which of the days they want to conduct the elections since they have from today, April 28 to May 2, 2022.

More things are going to happen

Pollster, Benson Ephson, sharing his thoughts on the ongoing elections intimated that with the way the election commenced, things are going to happen in terms of a bit more “violent events”. According to Ben Ephson, some of the footages of the ongoing election which is in circulation shows how things aren’t looking well. He stated that the acts by some of the voters is not worth it.

“You’re voting and the police has been invited to intercede to bring peace, and you want to fight a policeman because a politician has asked you that make sure the election doesn’t go on?”

Ben Ephson

The Pollster intimated that from today April 28, 2022 till the end of the elections, what the focus of the party must be is the way and manner in which it will bring the issues raised to a closure.

“This one is even for constituency executives and they will be in charge of the constituency processes which will lead to the election of other delegates which will lead to the conclusion of over 200,000 persons voting for a flagbearer for 2024.”

Ben Ephson

Touching on who could be responsible for the acts on the electoral grounds, he insinuated that it is the agents of the potential flagbearers who are ensuring that their interests are protected.
