Ghana To Play Brazil In A Pre-World Cup Friendly

The Black Stars of Ghana

The Black Stars of Ghana will play against Brazil in an International friendly next month as part of the build up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This follows the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone matches in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. A statement issued by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) indicated that the game will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022 at a yet to be named venue in Europe.

The match will give Coach Otto Addo the platform to continue the assessment of his players in the build up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals in Doha.

The international friendly match against the Brazil national team will give Ghana a boost going into the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

Brazil

This is the second friendly arranged for the team ahead of the World Cup. The Black Stars of Ghana are also scheduled, for the first time in history, to play against Switzerland in an International friendly before their opening match at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

The game will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Baniyas Club Stadium in Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates. Just like the game against Brazil, the match will give Coach Otto Addo a perfect opponent for the Group H opener against Portugal at the 974 stadium.

Swiss

The international friendly match against the Swiss national team will complete the calendar of the Black Stars – going into the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

The Black Stars will play Portugal (November 24), South Korea (November 28) and Uruguay (December 2) while Brazil faces Serbia (24 November), Switzerland (28 November) and Cameroon (December 2).

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Ticket Sales Reach 2.45 Million

Meanwhile, with less than 100 days to the start of the greatest Football show on Earth, a total of 2.45 million tickets have now been sold.

The first FIFA World Cup™ to be held in the Middle East and Arab world will kick off on 20th November, bringing fans from the region and across the world together in a compact and modern setting, with Qatar, the USA, England, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the UAE, France, Argentina, Brazil and Germany leading the ranking of ticket sales by country of residence.

In the last sales period alone, which ran from 5th July to 16th August when fans were able to buy tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, a total of 520,532 tickets were sold.

The biggest number of allocated tickets were for group-stage matches such as Cameroon vrs Brazil, Brazil vrs Serbia, Portugal vrs Uruguay, Costa Rica vrs Germany, and Australia vrs Denmark. Fans living in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the USA, Mexico, the UAE, England, Argentina, Brazil, Wales and Australia led the way and the digital queues – by securing the biggest number of tickets.

Fans who now hold confirmation for one or more matches in their FIFA ticketing account are encouraged to start planning their trip as soon as possible by booking their accommodation, if living outside of Qatar, and by applying for their Hayya (the Fan ID for the tournament) via or the Hayya to Qatar 2022 app.
