“We are begging God to help us have the patience to help the leadership do a total deployment of all the members of NDC so that we all have roles to secure power in 2024. The deployment is going to be total. Everybody in NDC will have a role to play so that we can march towards a common objective.”

It would be recalled that the NDC had a successful National Delegates Conference last month where delegates voted for their choices for the various national positions.

Asiedu Nketia noted that the NDC before the National elections started with asking for Allah’s blessings and guidance throughout the party’s activities and thankfully, all activities have been executed successfully and that is why they have come for thanksgiving.

The National Chairman urged party supporters that there should be continuous prayers as they prepare for other activities ahead of the general elections to claim power from the sitting government.

The National Executive members that were present at the mosque were led by Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia and General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey. Mr Nketia donated ¢5,000 to the National Chief Imam and other chiefs and elders of the mosque.

The Flagbearer hopeful for National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kojo Bonsu was spotted with the newly elected National Executives at the National Mosque for thanksgiving today.

Chairman Asiedu Nketiah and the General Secretary of the party Fifi Kwetey will lead a team of National Executives and former National executives to thank the Lord for a successful Congress. The thanksgiving will take place at the Perez Chapel at the Dzowulu Junction on Sunday January 8, 2023.

NDC Executives In Ashanti Region Slam Kwabena Duffuor Over Ahotor Project

Meanwhile, The Ashanti Regional executives of the party have accused former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor for not following due processes in his distribution of items to various constituencies in the region under his Ahotor project.

NDC executives in the region disclosed the they’ve not been consulted and were sidelined as far as the implementation of the initiative is concerned. They also raised concerns with respect to the manner in which the donations to party members are being rolled out.

Abass Nurudeen who is the Ashanti regional communications officer of the NDC revealed that that the executives are not necessarily against the donation of logistics to party members and constituencies but what they object to is what looks like insubordination on the side of the Ahotor team.

“We are not against the provision of logistical support of any form to the party at any level, but we are of the view that the proper party structures must be followed so that the regional executive body can supervise and ensure that those resources donated are put to very good use.

“And if you monitor the activities of the Ahotor project team, you will realize that it is not a donation to the party in the strict sense of the word because the items are not donated to the party and the party is not allowed to manage the donated items thereafter.”

Mr Abass

Mr Abass further said that “An NGO is formed in each constituency consisting of five members that are mandated to manage the donated resources and whatever monies that are acquired from such donations are to be paid into an account managed by the Ahotor team and this is a different kind of arrangement that is unknown to the party.”

The former General Secretary of the party, Now chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah in August 2022 also criticized Kwabena Duffuor and the Ahotor project describing it as a betrayal of the ideals of the NDC. General Mosquito, as Asiedu Nketiah is popularly called said the Party felt tricked when Duffuor donated to the NDC under the project sometime last year.
