Stonebwoy Reacts To Meek Mill's Music Video Shot At Ghana's Presidential Palace

Dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, has applauded Meek Mill for officially apologizing to the good people of Ghana when he was rebuked for filming a music video at Ghana’s presidential palace.

According to Stonebwoy, he defended while speaking in an interview that the apology proved that there were no evil intentions as he didn’t know the laws and he believes coming out to apologize showed his true intentions.

The award-winning singer shared saying;

“This would probably be the first time I’m speaking about that because I’ve not necessarily tried to stay away from that comment truth be told, I couldn’t come to the states and go to the White House and do whatever I want to except there’s a certain amount of leeway that I could do stuff”.

He maintained that security at the Jubilee House should have done its job by guiding Meek Mill through the rules and regulations in the area.

Stonebwoy defended saying;

“I don’t think it was a big deal but the internet went crazy and he did what he had to do. It was the job of the protocol and the security personnel to make sure that ‘we don’t film over here’…he is excited”.

Stonebwoy, after that encounter, narrated how proud he was to see bikers from Ashaiman getting up close with the American rapper during his first time visit to Accra- Ghana.

He said;

“It is crazy, all those bikers are my boys…They are my brothers, we grew up together…from the hood I come from which is called Ashaiman. That is where you find most of the bikers. It gives me a lot of joy for that shine they are getting…Ghana is always welcoming”.

Stonebwoy attributes success of Nigerian musicians to their nation’s huge population

The Ghanaian Dancehall singer, Stonebwoy spoke on why the Nigerian music industry is ahead of the Ghanaian music industry on the International scene.

Speaking in an interview in America, Stonebwoy who has a great relationship with Nigerian acts said the success of the Nigerian musicians to their nation’s huge population.

According to Stonebwoy, the high population of Nigeria helps the industry, the singer also stated that Nigerian acts are tenacious, aggressive, hardworking, and have a winning mindset.

Stonebwoy, however, pointed out that both countries inspire each other, which further enhances their individual growth.

The artiste also commended our local musicians for doing their best despite not having the support and financial muscles as compared to Nigerians.

He stated saying;

“It’s just recently that some of our musicians had distribution deals with Sony and Universal music. Our local musicians are really putting in their best and I believe that with them, they’ll rock shoulders with their Nigerian colleagues in the music industry”.

Stonebwoy added that;

“Interestingly, every of their top-lister, find inspiration in Ghana. Burna says it often, Wizkid literally lives in Ghana, Davido is like a brother that’s 24/7 we’re together. We’re all playing our individual roles together out there we cannot all be in the front seat”.

The popular Reggae/Dancehall artiste made his debut on the popular show at New York on Tuesday.

The award-winning musician opened up about the growth of the Afrobeat genre, the impact it has made in Africa and other yet-to-be-explored genres of music on the continent.

The singer also went on to speak about his career, his life-threatening accident, his scuffle with Shatta Wale, and other interesting topics.

He told that his scuffle with Shatta Wale came about when he was picking up an award for the fifth time in a roll as the Best Reggae/Dancehall artiste and he (Shatta Wale) couldn’t take it so he had to swim to the stage with a lot of people.

He also said;

“I was about to give my speech and he disrupted the whole team and it was very chaos and well and you know I’m from the street and he’s from the street so we really got there”.
