VegPro Sponsors UMB’s COO On An Educational Trip To Kenya

Kwadwo Aduameyaw Mante, Corporate Credit Officer of Universal Merchant Bank receiving his best student award qualifying him an educational trip to Kenya

Kwadwo Aduameyaw Mante, the Corporate Credit Officer (COO) of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has earned for himself a 5-day educational trip to Kenya, sponsored by VegPro, largest fresh vegetable producer in Canada.

During the Agricultural Lending training organized by Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural (GIRSAL) and the Development Bank in Accra, hosted at the National Banking College, Mr. Mante was adjudged one of the best students.

Emerging as the top student in the programme, the COO was sponsored a five-day agribusiness educational trip by the VegPro Group to Kenya. Mr. Mante was nominated for the programme by the Human Resources Department of UMB as part of its annual strategic learning plan to deliver its mid-term strategy.

These were the comments of the COO when he was given the opportunity to speak to the award received.

Mr. Mante departs for Nairobi within the week for the study tour, which will include a visit to VegPro’s packaging and logistics facility in Nairobi; a tour of VegPro farms in Naivasha, and a networking dinner event.

An Overview of UMB

Its first main step change in the vegetable business was in 1995, when the company built the vegetable packing operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi which led to supplying the first UK retail customer.
