Boris Johnson’s Partygate Enquiry Report Ready

Partygate enquiry report ready.

The conclusion of the committee’s investigation into whether former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson lied to legislators about events at his Downing Street office, that violated COVID-19 lockdown regulations would be discussed at a meeting Today.

Following Johnson’s abrupt resignation as a legislator last Friday, members of Parliament’s Privileges Committee have vowed to keep looking into his behavior, and have blamed him furiously of being driven out in a “witch hunt.”

The committee’s eagerly awaited report would be completed today. The 58-year old ex- PM disclosed that, the Privileges Committee informed him that he would face consequences for deceiving the House on “partygate.” The partygate saga was a string of intoxicated events, that took place in Boris Jonson’s office, in violation of the pandemic regulations, that his government had placed on the nation.

Johnson however, described the committee, which involved representatives from both the ruling party, and the opposition parties, as biased and a “kangaroo court.” The committee reacted that, Johnson’s criticism “impugned the integrity” of Parliament.

Johnson exit from Parliament would mean, he would not be affected by any suspension decision, but the committee may decide to impose additional sanctions, such as prohibiting Johnson from accessing the premises of Parliament.

Some pictures of the parties organized Mr. Johnson’s staff to celebrate his birthday and send-off parties for other staff members.

Johnson’s government collapse was aided by reports that, his staff organized office parties, birthday parties, and “wine time Fridays” in 2020 and 2021, during a period when millions had been advised not to see family members or even participate in outdoor events. Johnson however, left his position as premier last summer after series of condemnations from the general public.

Moreover, Johnson argued to legislators that, he didn’t deliberately deceive Parliament about the events, despite police fining him and other top officials for breaking lockdown regulations.

He claims to have “honestly believed” that, the five meetings he attended including a farewell dinner for a co-worker, and his own surprised birthday party were “lawful work gatherings,” and they were meant to raise morale among busy employees dealing with a deadly pandemic.

Johnson Begged Me To Intervene, Sunak Opens Up

Boris Johnson is under fire from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for allegedly urging him to “overrule” a committee that was reviewing the House of Lords appointments on his resignation list. However, eight of Johnson’s nominees were turned down, according to the House of Lords Appointments Commission (HOLAC).

Rishi Sunak
Rishi Sunak claims Mr. Boris Johnson begged his to disregard HOLAC advise on his nominees.

Mr. Johnson allegedly encouraged Mr. Sunak to disregard the HOLAC advice or “make promises to people.” Sunak added that, he declined since it was “something I wasn’t prepared to do.”

“I wasn’t prepared to do that I didn’t think that was right. And if people don’t like that, then tough,” Sunak revealed. The intervention signals a turning point in the verbal battle, that has been raging over Mr. Johnson’s contentious departure honors list.

As a departing Prime Minister, Mr. Johnson had the authority to propose individuals for nomination to the House of Lords and other honors, such as knighthoods. Conventionally, the incumbent Prime Ministers provided the list of nominees to HOLAC, which, after deliberating on the list, may suggest that their names may or may not be approved.

Notwithstanding, the vetting commission refused eight of Mr. Johnson’s nominations, a spokesman for commission revealed, adding that the commission “does not comment on individuals” but declined to name them or give reasons.

Mr. Sunak transmitted Mr. Johnson’s list of candidates in its original form, Downing Street confirmed. It claims to have sent the King the entire list of approvals from HOLAC. However, a source who identified themselves as a supporter of Mr. Johnson accused the Prime Minister of “secretly” obstructing peerages for “Nadine and others.”

The source continued, “He refused to ask for them to go through basic checks that could have taken only a few weeks or even days. That is how he kept them off the list, without telling Boris Johnson.”
