Vodafone Ghana to Reward Customers As It Launches Cashback Initiative

Vodafone Ghana has launched a new cashback initiative, christened the ‘ƐDAMU promo’ in a bid to reward customer loyalty and promote digital transactions.

Vodafone Ghana explained that the promo, which roughly translates to ‘jackpot’ in Akan, offers customers up to 20 per cent cashback on their recharge value.

According to the second biggest Telco company in the country, this reward applies to any single top-up of GH¢5.00 or more made through digital platforms, including Vodafone Cash, My Vodafone App (MVA), Electronic Voucher Distribution (EVD), and approved third-party channels.

The Consumer Business Unit Director, Vodafone Ghana, David Umoh, expressed enthusiasm about the new initiative, highlighting the value the company placed on its customers.

“At Vodafone Ghana, we are constantly exploring innovative ways to show our customers that their trust in us is deeply valued. The ƐDAMU promo allows us to reward our customers and also encourage the use of digital channels for airtime purchases, aligning with Vodafone Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.”

David Umoh

The Consumer Business Unit Director boasted that Vodafone Ghana has a strong track record of driving digital transformation through its innovative products and services.

David Umoh stressed that the company’s commitment to creating a digital society that prioritises inclusivity and accessibility has been unwavering and that the recent promotions are testament of that commitment.

“The ƐDAMU promo is another step in Vodafone Ghana’s journey towards a more connected and digitally empowered future. By embracing technology and pushing boundaries, the company continues to pave the way for digital innovation in the telecommunications sector.”

The promotion is open to all consumer and business mobile prepaid and hybrid subscribers. Customers will see their cash rewards instantly credited to their Vodafone Cash accounts each time they make an eligible digital recharge of GH¢5 or above.

Cashback Rewards for Friends and Families

In a unique twist, customers can also earn cashback rewards for friends and family when they purchase airtime for another Vodafone number via eligible channels.

However, Vodafone Ghana noted that purchases for numbers on other networks will not attract cashback rewards.

Just recently, the company launched an SMS based promo called VODAFONE “MEGA PROMO”. This promo is an SMS based Play for Free Trivia Game and Subscription Service. The Promotion is also called the “Live Your Life Promotion”. Participants gather points by answering multiple choice trivia questions that qualify subscribers for campaign rewards.

To become a Standard Participant in the Trivia Game, a customer needs to send an SMS to the short code 560 or dial the USSD Code *560#. This comes at no cost to the subscriber.

Every SMS contains the question, the number of points the Participant stands to win and 2 answer variants in the format 1=AAAAA, 2=BBBBB. The Participant must select the correct response and send the corresponding number 1 or 2 or the options verbatim to get the maximum points.

With the recent promotions by Vodafone Ghana, it seeks to challenge the market leader, MTN Ghana, to balance the equation of its subscriber base.
