“I just think it is time to go our ways and then try to do our own thing. I just see it to be part of life and it is time. As time goes on, you’ll meet people, in three, or four years, and maybe nothing will ever happen. And a time will come when you might not even really meet each other again and stuff like that.

“There was a time when we worked with them, and now is a time that we are not working with them. So I’m just taking it like that”.

He further mentioned he and GroundUp still have splits in terms of money with the songs he has with them because of the agreement they had from the beginning.

He revealed:

“My time with GroundUp was amazing, I’m not going to lie. I loved it. It was good. I didn’t leave. Nobody fired anybody, it was just an agreement. It was just time for everyone to do their own thing”.

Quamina MP recounted when he lost his studio to a fire outbreak and had to use their studio and their platform for his uploads.

He further added that they supported him by funding him and shooting two videos for him.

Quamina MP reveals he thought about ‘Ghanapiano’ before DopeNation

Ghanaian musician, Quamina MP, shared that he had the idea of introducing the new sound called ‘Ghanapiano’ before DopeNation publicly announced the concept.

DopeNation over the weekend gave meaning to their new sound ‘Ghanapiano’ revealing that it’s ‘Ghana’ because they are taking old and new sounds from the Ghanaian culture musically and merging them on the piano, adding that when their song ‘Gboza’ is played, the elements on the piano can be heard so that is how come they churn the name ‘Ghanapiano’.

Quamina MP revealed that he was taken aback when he heard DopeNation’s announcement as he had the idea first but didn’t act on it because they didn’t see the vision.

He stated:

“I was actually very surprised because I had that idea. Actually, it was my manager who mentioned that and I was like ‘Oh yeah, that makes sense’. Even four years ago, Twitch mentioned that to me, and for my style, he feels like we can fuse my style with the Amapiano, but we didn’t see the vision and how it was supposed to go”.

He further explained that artists are neglecting their original Ghanaian sounds for foreign ones, adding that some of them are still fighting to stay connected to the Ghanaian sounds.

He mentioned that he and Fameye are hopefully going to make sure they do what they can in order to make sure that Ghanaian sounds travel bigger.

Also, the Ghanaian musician and record producer clarified his relationship status, stating that he is currently single and focused on his music career.

The ‘Amanfuor Girls’ composer said he has been single for a while due to his commitment to his music and the demanding nature of his job, adding that he values authenticity and wants any potential romantic connection to develop naturally.

He revealed:

“I feel like I don’t want to force myself into anything. For real I am still single”.

Quamina MP

He admitted that he spends a lot of time with his friends, which leaves little time for romantic involvement.

Quamina MP, however, said it is his personal decision to remain single until he is ready to get loved up.
