The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is scheduled to chair an Artificial Intelligence conference at the World Security and Intelligence Summit. The event will take place at the Bletchley party Park, home of the Enigma codebreakers.

The summit would focus its discussions on the globally coordinated efforts to mitigate the risks surrounding the use of AI. The summit seeks to assemble governments, vibrant Artificial Intelligence firms and the academia to develop a consented action.

During his trip to the United States, the British Prime Minister announced his intentions of hosting an AI summit, amid the worries of the growing speed of AI would soon be out of hand, and present measures that guild its usage, would be obsolete.

Among those raising concerns about the growing speed of Artificial intelligence, is tech giant Elon Musk. Advance generative AI can now create realistic text, images, and voice makeovers, prompting growing safety worries.

Sunak’s stance on the artificial intelligence remains unclear and has changed in different ways for the past months.

The Prime Minister held discussions about the numerous opportunities that come with artifificial intelligence, but he is also of the view that, it may also pose some existential threat to the society.

Sunak has been attempting to present Britain as the obvious center for global attempts to regulate the industry, one that can serve as a link between the US and China and provide an alternative to what some view as the EU’s overbearing policy.

Additionally, Rishi Sunak debunk the notion that, the UK do not play much role in AI, for them to involve itselft in determining the future of the technology, most especially now that its has no membership in the EU.

“The UK has long been home to the transformative technologies of the future, so there is no better place to host the first ever global AI safety summit than at Bletchley Park this November. To fully embrace the extraordinary opportunities of artificial intelligence, we must grip and tackle the risks to ensure it develops safely in the years ahead.

“With the combined strength of our international partners, thriving AI industry and expert academic community, we can secure the rapid international action we need for the safe and responsible development of AI around the world.”

Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of UK.

According to a whitepaper released by the UK government on artificial intelligence, it established a set of principles meant to regulate the technogy industry, but the paper outlined few specific guidelines on how to achieve that.

However, some experts claimed that, they’ve been let down by Sunak’s antagonistic stance on dealing with artificial intelligence with a specific regulation assigned to that only.

The G7 group of developped nation decided to establish an international forum known as the “Hiroshima AI process” to discuss challenges relating to rapidly evolving tools.

In the same sector, the European Union has already made tremendous progress in this area and is now putting up regulations that will help recognize the bloc as a global leader in tech regulation.

Bletchley park served as the base for Codebreakers in Buckinghamshire. it remained a significant fortress for the history of computer science. During the WWII, Codebreakers worked to decrypt German communications, particular Enigma messages.

They were then able to communicate essential data to the allied forces. Data suggests that, Codebreakers effort during the WWII, shortened the war by two years and saved millions of lives.
