NPP November 4 Presidential Primaries To Go Wire – Global InfoAnalytics

A new poll on the New Patriotic Party November 4 National Delegates Conference conducted by Global InfoAnalytics shows that the race to lead the New Patriotic Party flagbearership ahead of the December 7 2024 General Election could go to the wire despite the withdrawal of the former Minister of Trade and Industry, Honorable Alan John Kwadwo  Kyeremanten from the race.

According to Global InfoAnalytics, the poll had a sample size of 1,954 delegates who were randomly selected and polled from all 275 constituencies in the country.

The survey revealed that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB) is in the lead with 45% while the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong followed with 18%.

The poll also revealed that 17% of the delegates refused to disclose who they intended to vote for and 20% were undecided.

“Prior to Alan’s withdrawal, DMB had led with 49% of the votes while KOA was on 21% and AKK on 7%. In the event of a runoff, the poll remains the same as 45% will vote for DMB and 18% for KOA suggesting that the race is a two-horse race with Dr Akoto and Addai-Nimoh playing no significant role in the outcome of who leads the NPP”.

Global InfoAnalytics

However, according to the survey in the swing regions of Greater Accra, Central, Western and North East, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s lead is much narrow as he is backed by only 35% of the delegates,

Mr Kennedy Agyapong on the other hand secured 22%, while 25% of the delegates did not disclose their votes and 18% of delegates were undecided

According to the poll when delegates were asked which candidate they had intended to vote for before Mr. Kyeremanten’s withdrawal, 40% chose the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu  Bawumia while 17% chose the former Trade and Industry Minsiter, Honorable Alan Kwadwo  Kyeremanten and 12% chose the Assin  Central Member of Parliament, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong.

The poll further revealed that 14% of the delegates were undecided while 17% did not disclose their vote.

The poll also suggested that 31% of delegates who had originally intended to vote for Alan Kyeremanten had switched their votes to the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, while 35% switched to Mr Kennedy Agyapong, with 25% undecided and 8% of the delegates who did not disclose their voting intentions and 1% said they will not vote.

Alan Withdrawal And NPP Chances In 2024 Election

The poll indicated that 55% of the delegates contacted believe Mr. Alan Kyeremanten’s withdrawal would affect the party’s chances in the December 7 2024 General Elections while 37% believe Mr Alan Kyeremanten’s withdrawal would not affect the Party’s chances in the December 7, 2024, General Election.

Meanwhile, Mr Musa Danquah, the Executive Director of the Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that Mr Alan John Kwakwo Kyeremanten’s withdrawal would cost the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s November 4 National Delegates’ Conference more than the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

He noted that there is no coordination between the grassroots and the Super Delegates’ of the party. According to Mr. Musa Danquah, any candidate who will attract the majority of Mr Alan Kyeremanten’s supporters has a high chance of winning the party’s presidential primaries on November 4.

He believes if the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong can maintain his momentum he can pull a surprise in the November 4 National Delegates’ Conference of the party.

The New Patriotic Party is expected to hold its National Delegates Conference on November 4 to elect its flagbearer for the 2024 General Elections.
