The prophet

In the midst of mourning, a video has emerged, capturing a prophetic moment from a religious leader on the 23rd of October 2022. During one of his church sermons, this man of God delivered a strange accurate prophecy about the potential downturn in the music career of a prominent figure in Nigeria’s music scene.

While the prophet did not explicitly mention the musician’s name, his descriptions and references strongly suggest Naira Marley, a well-known Nigerian artist. The prophet elaborated on how this musician would face severe challenges and backlash from the Nigerian public, indicating a significant uprising against him.

He prophesied that this popular artist would inadvertently be connected to the tragic death of a young man, whose passing would send shockwaves through the music industry and bring about a transformative revolution.

The prophecy’s details were bitterly prophetic, aligning with the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death and the subsequent controversies that have emerged in its wake.

As discussions and speculations continue to circulate about the outcome of Mohbad’s death, this prophetic revelation adds another layer of interest to the developing narrative.

It serves as a reminder of the complicated dynamics within the music industry and the far-reaching consequences of artists’ actions, both positive and negative, on their careers and the wider society.

Police chases protesters at MohBad’s Candle night

Protestors at Mohbad Candle Night

The Lagos State Police Command explained why it dispersed youths who stormed the Lekki and Victoria Island areas of Lagos on Thursday, for a candlelight procession in honor of the late singer, Mohbad.

The police said Mohbad’s protesters were in the process of breaching the agreement the organizers had with the police that the gathering would not exceed 8:00 p.m.

In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Friday, the police explained that some demonstrators gathered at Lekki Toll Gate and started chanting #JusticeforMohbad, adding that their action made the police chase away the protesters who were not satisfied with the agreement that the procession should have ended.

“The Lagos State Police Command is fully aware of false narratives making the rounds in relation to the dispersal of crowds at the Lekki Toll Gate yesterday, September 21, 2023″, parts of the statement read.

“It is instructive to note that the Lagos State Police Command had an agreement with the organizers of the candlelight procession that the procession was to end at 8 p.m latest and should terminate at Muri Okunola, Victoria Island. It was clearly stated for the avoidance of doubt that in the interest of all Lagosians and considering the heavy use of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Lekki Toll Gate would be a no-go area.

“It, however, became disconcerting that after the procession duly ended at Muri Okunola park as agreed, with the police providing optimal security all through, some persons started gathering at the Lekki Toll Gate with intent to manifest objectives extraneous to the #justiceforMohbad initiative”.

The Statement

The police noted that the proactive idea to disperse them was borne out of past experiences whereby culprits hijacked peaceful protests.

It can be recalled that Lagos lost billions of money and properties when the #EndSARS protest was hijacked in 2020.

“Therefore, in fulfillment of our mandate to protect life and property, maintain law and order, and prevent crimes, we adopted the least harmful method of crowd dispersal, following the failure of verbal persuasion – the use of teargas. Not a single live ammunition was fired! The police adopted crowd management best practices in engaging the unruly crowd. No life was lost neither was there any injury”.
