I Will Put National Service Personnel To Good Use – Hon. Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong, 2024 Flagbearer Candidate-NPP

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central and aspiring flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party, Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has made known his plan to make good use of national service personnel in Ghana if he became president.

He plans to instill discipline in all service personnel by their mandatory service in the military for six months as part of the one-year service to the nation.

“I have noticed national service, I will put them to good use. Because of indiscipline in Ghana, every national service personnel will serve six months in the military before you come and continue the six months and finish the job. You will have the option to remain in the military after.”

Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

This is part of his Patriotism, Honesty and Discipline agenda which he intends to run when given the nod as President of Ghana.

Strategic Foreign Investment Needed, Economist Warns

“I have come to realize that our challenge as Ghanaians is the lack of patriotism, honesty, and discipline. So what we need are the three pillars. I shortened it to P.H.D.; patriotism, honesty, and discipline.”

Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

The Assin Central Member of Parliament strongly believes that the lack of these three principles in Ghana has greatly affected its development. He argues that the lack of patriotism has led to corruption, laziness, and dishonesty among others across the country.

“When you are patriotic you love your country. You will not steal, you will not be corrupt, you will not be lazy, and you will not be dishonest to your country. Patriotism is key if we want to develop Ghana.”

Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

Honorable Kennedy Agyapong emphasized that the current level of deterioration in these values is due to the lack of leadership. “The level of dishonesty in Ghana, you need a leader who will be bold and tell you what you did is wrong and you will be punished”, he said.

He gave an assurance that under his administration, he will ensure there is discipline in the country especially in waste management.

“We need discipline in the country. There is no discipline in the country … Under my administration, if I am given the nod, we will have recycle bins and garbage bins.”

Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

He further explained how he will change the economy of the country using three pillars; Tourism; agro-processing; and agricultural mechanization, technology, and engineering. He believes these will lead to the economic transformation of the country.

Also, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong pledged his commitment towards ensuring he repositions Ghanaians in the way they think when he is elected as president. He also expressed his commitments to the sports and entertainment industries too.

“I assure you, God willing, if I am sworn in as president on 7th January, Ghanaians will rethink. He indicated his support for sports and entertainment and their active development across the country to unite Ghanaians and tell their story.

“We should promote all disciplines in sports… We should build nice studios in Ghana. We have to encourage them… I have good plans for musicians too.”

Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong
