Pastor Tunde Bakare Spills, Sparks Reactions

Nigerian Clergyman, Pastor Tunde Bakare and the late Mohbad

Nigerian clergyman, Pastor Tunde Bakare has stirred reactions online with his statement on the late singer, Mohbad.

The clergyman, while preaching in Leicester, United Kingdom at a church event on Sunday, revealed how Mohbad had reaped the reward of his actions while alive.

He stated that his stage name ‘Mohbad’ which means ‘I am bad’, greatly affected him, and the friends he associated with worsened things as they contributed to his untimely demise.

Pastor Tunde reaffirmed that Mohbad reaped the reward of his harvest, however, he made it clear that he isn’t blaming the singer for his death.

“My wife and I listened to a tape last night on MohBad. How many of you know MohBad? The Nigerian artiste who died at 27? MohBad. When he was drinking and smoking and associating with evil men, he did not know that the harvest would come so soon and that he would soon be cut down at the prime of youth. I am not blaming him, I am just telling you. Is MohBad a good name? Moh Bad”.

His statement has sparked lots of outrage as many expressed disappointment in the clergyman.

“Some pastors need to look at the life their children are living before condemning other people’s children. Thank goodness man is not God”, Ooni wrote.

“Na men of God spoil this country finish. Coz they talk out of point and are so brainless. How does this relate, he is an artist so their names put them out to their fans. Make him go sit down na why he can’t win even primaries”, Biggest Smoke wrote.

“So you mean he deserved to die”, Dare Tiwa wrote.

“This man and the people that think like this are the reason he said he added Imole to his name so he wouldn’t come off as rude”, Virtuous wrote.

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh slammed the clergyman, Pastor Tunde Bakare.

In response to his remarks, Tonto Dikeh pointed out how the clergyman never addresses the unholy activities of his colleagues but is quick to speak on Mohbad’s death.

Tonto stated that it’s the anointing of God upon his head that has refrained her from going off at him, as she admonished him to keep the same energy with his corrupted colleagues.

“Dear Pastor Tunde, when your colleagues are caught with their pants down in unholy sexual activities, we never hear your voice, you never speak nor preach about them. It comes to the death of a boy who is old enough to be your last born, and you say ‘HE REAPED THE REWARD OF HIS ACTIONS’. What Actions?”, Tonto Dikeh wrote.

“Please, please, please KEEP THE SAME ENERGY with your corrupted colleagues as you just did today. It’s the anointing of God upon your head that’s making me not go off on this LOOSE COMMENT OF YOURS. I have learned over the years that if you have nothing nice to say, keep mute (DON’T TALK AT ALL). Preach your gospel and leave MohBad’s name out of your ministration. I don’t respect old age; I respect the wisdom you exhibit at old age”.

Tonto Dikeh

Since the news of Mohbad’s demise, Tonto Dikeh has been among the few celebrities calling out Naira Marley and his cohorts.

The mother of two had tackled Naira Marley after he raised a series of questions for Nigerians on Mohbad’s death. Telling him to shut up, she told him not to take Mohbad’s fans for a fool, while adding that he looks prettier with his mouth closed.
