Pius Enam Hadzide Calls On His Supporters In Asougyaman To Remain Calm

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Enam Hadzide who is contesting in the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries in the Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region has called on his supporters to remain calm amidst the current happenings in the party.

He noted that the actions of some of the leading members of the party in recent times are very discouraging and make one to even wonder whether such people have good intentions towards the party at all.

“The actions of some of our colleagues have caused many of you to wonder about the real intent of some members, including leading members of our party. Many have asked, do these people want us to win? You have asked yourselves what they intend to gain by doing and saying the kind of things we have seen and heard”.

Pius Enam Hadzide

According to the former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, he is very convinced that regardless of the recent happenings in the party, the New Patriotic Party would emerge victorious to work towards its vision to break the “8”.

“I have come to you with a simple message of hope; We are many, and they a few! The many are united behind the elephant. We are fortified by the strength of our resolve to break the eight and also to win the Asuogyaman seat”.

Mr. Enam Hadzide also stated that the New Patriotic Party like any other organization is made up of mere mortals who are fallible and would therefore encounter challenges. He indicated that regardless of such a situation members of the party should remain committed to support the party to accomplish its vision of breaking the “8”

“Mistakes are bound to occur, but the mother of all mistakes would be to become, in the words of B.J. Da Rocha, a disruptive factor, a stumbling block and a loose cannon”.

Pius Enam Hadzide

According to Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide, the decision by the Former Trade Minister, Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen to resign from the party that made him Ambassador and three times, Cabinet Minister responsible for Trade and Industry is most unfortunate but he believes the New Patriotic Party would survive.

“I can only wish him well and assure him that the average lifespan for the majority of species of a butterfly is just two to four weeks. The elephant lives longer!’

Pius Enam Hadzide

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority also expressed his disappointment with what he described as an attack on his personality for supporting the ongoing limited registration exercise in the constituency.

“Equally unfortunate and regrettable is the “war” being waged on me for supporting the limited registration exercise and also giving each registered first-time voter a token of GhC10 for refreshment”.

Pius Enam Hadzide

According to Pius Enam Hadzide, even though he is very concerned about winning the Asougyaman parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party, his major concern is the party winning the 2024 General Elections.

He therefore admonished his party supporters to focus on the limited voter registration exercise to ensure that all party supporters who have turned the age of 18 years old get registered in order to participate in the 2024 General Election.

“I understand that breaking the eight and winning the MP seat for the NPP is a process, not an event. I also know that winning primaries is only a means to an end. The end in itself is winning the general elections, and that is why I have announced a suspension of my campaign temporarily to enable the delegates and me to focus on the registration exercise.

It is not just my enormous financial support but, more importantly, my physical presence and personal involvement. Involvement beyond gimmickry and photo ops”.

Pius Enam Hadzide

He therefore commended members of the Asuogyaman Rising Project for remaining calm in the face of extreme provocation and even physical attacks.
