President Akufo-Addo Accused Of Tacitly Endorsing Dr Bawumia

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba

The Director of Conflict Resolution of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Abraham Amaliba has accused President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of deliberately endorsing his Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the New Patriotic Party November 4 National Delegate Conference.

Speaking in a media interview on Friday, October 27 2023, Lawyer Abraham Amaliba chastised President Akufo-Addo for fueling the ambitions of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2024 general elections.

According to Lawyer Abraham Amaliba, Dr Mahamudu Bawumai has enjoined significant support from President Akufo-Addo’s administration in his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party.

“Because Bawumia is the side chick of the President and he is enjoying protection and support from the current President. Dr. Bawumai is the candidate for the establishment, so it is no wonder and surprising that you have the president speaking eloquently about the Vice President when indeed his output is abysmal”.

Dr. Bawumia Accused Of Incompetence

Again, the opposition National Democratic Congress Director of Conflict Resolution accused the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of supervising and managing Ghana’s economy poorly which has impoverished many Ghanaians.

He noted that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia does not deserve those accolades the President showered on him as the Vice President’s performance as the head of the economic management team has proven otherwise.

“If the President was smart he would have known that the question from the young child was pregnant. Even schoolchildren know Dr Bawuamia is a disaster. If you say the man is hardworking, what is his output? The dollar is close to 12 cedi, the debt to GDP is almost 99%, and a litre of petrol is 11.99 cedi. So this child sits in his father’s car and the father stops at the fuel station to buy fuel and the child sees the price of the fuel, so the child knows the hardship in the country; unfortunately, the President didn’t see this and started rattling.

“Our economy is in shambles. So you cannot say that Dr. Bawumia is clever; where has his cleverness ended the country? Economic mess. You said he is honest when we all know he is deceitful! You remember when the NPP launched their Manifesto in Cape Coast, the Vice President told the people of Cape Coast that the NPP government was going to give them an airport and that has never been materialized. Was that honesty to the people of Cape Coast?”

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba

Again, Lawyer Amaliba accused Vice President Dr.  Mahamudu Bawumia of feeling insecure due to uncertainty and confusion which has characterised his sense of identity basically as a result of his ambitions to become President of Ghana.

“He went to tell the Asantehene that he is the son of the Asantehene that is identity crisis. How do you think the chiefs in the north would feel about the Vice President’s behavior; It is the same way he’s been moving from church to church. Let the people identify you for who you are and vote for you. Don’t be flirting left-right-centre. Dr Bawumia thinks that he can only be accepted if he aligns himself with a certain group of people”.

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba also expressed his disappointment in citizens who despite the economic hardship the New Patriotic Party administration has imposed on Ghanaians still have the temerity to defend the government.

He thus, admonished Ghanaians to vote against the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia when elected as the New Patriotic Party flagbearer in the 2024 general elections to avoid further damage and destruction of the country’s economy.

President Akufo-Addo stated that he chose Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate mainly due to his outstanding qualities of truthfulness, goal orientation, and unwavering commitment to achieving collective objectives.

The President made the comments when pupils and teachers of the Association International School paid him a visit at the Presidency, Jubilee House on October 26 2023.
