Alan’s Independent Candidature Will Upset NPP Chances In Ashanti Region- Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

The Assin Central Member of Parliament and Presidential spirant in the New Patriotic Party Presidential primaries, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong  has indicated that he will not respond to attacks levelled against him by the Second lady and the wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia

According to the maverick politician who is widely known for his public outburst he rather prays for his critics when he hears them speak ill about him.

He noted that even though he is not perturbed about the allegations being made against his personality by his opponents, it is worrying that the leadership of the party has remained silent all this while.

The vociferous Member of Parliament (MP) noted that he has chosen not to comment on some of the pronouncements from the Second Lady against him since his reply would cause severe damage to the second lady’s marriage.

The Assin Central Member of Parliament further rebutted claims about him being badmouthed about women which he said is not true.

He buttressed his response with his silence over the Second Lady’s comments about him which he has chosen not to respond.

“I just said Lord forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing. But you see I haven’t spoken? But if I had responded to her statement, they would say I am insulting a woman but when she made those comments, she wasn’t insulting a man.”

Kennedy Agyapong Refutes Claims Of Enjoying ‘Fat Contract’

Moreover, the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong denied allegations that he has enjoyed ‘fat contracts’ under President Akufo-Addo’s administration and yet has turned around to destroy the party.

Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong indicated that even though the Second Lady did not mention any name in her speech, he knows he was the person he addressed in her speech.

According to him, he does not enjoy anything substantial from his appointment as the Board Chairman of Ghana Gas Company Limited.

He touted his remarkable and sterling achievements that have contributed to Ghana Gas Company Limited’s growth and investment.

“Go to Ghana Gas, I have been there for over two years; go and they will tell you, I do not know how much Ghana Gas pays me. I was told GHS 2,600 as a Board Chair for sitting allowances. Sometimes it takes like three months for us to attend a meeting. I have told the Board Members several times that I just want to resign; even last week I was discussing with the Energy Minister, Napo that I want to resign and go but I will pride myself that even the Board members have asked me not to resign.

“Napo equally advised me not to leave. Go and sample opinions from the staff of Ghana Gas and you will identify the level of changes, growth and investment that I have brought to Ghana Gas. Me, I have that leadership qualities; you can’t take that away from me”.

Meanwhile, the former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party NPP who is also Campaign Manager for Team Ken in Ashanti Region, Robert Yaw Amankwa, has slammed the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the worst Vice-President in the political history of Ghana.

In his view, the economic challenges and untold hardships the country is experiencing are very rare under the supervision of the economic management team, headed by the vice President.

He noted that Dr Bawumia has woefully failed on all his ‘fat Campaign’ promises of turning the fortunes of the country’s economy for the betterment of all.
