Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP Flagbearer 2024 General Elections

The Spokesperson for the Dr Bawumia Campaign Team for the New Patriotic Party Presidential Primaries, Dennis Miracles  Aboagye has expressed optimism about the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerging victorious after the Saturday, November 4 National Delegates Conference of the party.

According to Mr Aboagye the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has undoubtedly distinguished himself as the only candidate among the four aspirants to lead the party to win the 2024 general elections.

He noted that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has demonstrated hard work, dedication and commitment to task throughout his public service and he is very optimistic the party will show appreciation to the Vice President for his sterling dedication to work.

“The party is going into the November 4 primaries to elect a flagbearer who can win the 2024 general elections and based on the conversation we have had with the members of the party they seem very convinced that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the party’s brightest chance. NPP recognizes and acknowledges hard work and for me that is key; I mean the Vice President, his level of commitment and dedication to the party is critical and we should also remember that for a party to make you a flagbearer is a big honour; it is their decision and choice”.

Dennis Miracle Aboagye

The Director of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development at the Presidency, Dennis Miracle Aboagye further indicated that even though the Vice President will win the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Primaries to lead the party as the flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, the ultimate responsibility lies on all members and supporters of the party to rally behind him to actualize the party’s vision of breaking the ‘8’.

He expressed confidence that the Vice President will win over 70% of the party’s total delegate votes after polls on Saturday, November 4 2023.

Miracles Refute Claims Of DMB Team Offering $800m Bribe

Moreover, the Former Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North and Spokesperson for Dr Bawumai’s Campaign Team refuted claims that the Vice President’s Team had offered to bribe a fellow candidate amounting to 800,000 million dollars.

According to him, it would be unreasonable on the part of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to risk giving out such a huge amount of money to only one candidate in a contest that is made of four aspirants.

He thus urged Ghanaians to disregard the allegations against the Vice President and treat them with the contempt they deserve.

“Dr. Bawumia does not have that kind of money, but even if he has there is no way he is going to give that money to a likely second or third-place contestant. In the first place, if I am spending that money then I am looking at an unopposed contest so how does it even add up if I give you $800m and still go in a contest with three others?”

Dennis Miracle Aboagye

Meanwhile, the opposition National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu North Constituency, Eric Edem Agbana has urged the New Patriotic Party to emulate the National Democratic Congress and conduct Saturday’s, November 4 National Delegates Conference without any altercations.

According to him, it is very characteristics’ of the New Patriotic Party to have internal party elections tainted with violence, hence the party must desist from such traits as Ghanaians are already burdened with the hardship it has imposed on them due to its poor economic mismanagement.

“We don’t want news of friends and family members on the other side becoming victims of acid baths or other violent practices. I worry that at the Super Delegates Congress which had less than thousands delegates across the sixteen regions, we saw violence and ‘showdown’ in some of the polling stations”.

Eric Edem Agbana

A total of 203,439 delegates are expected to partake in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP), presidential elections scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023.

The election will take place in the various constituencies across all 16 regions of the country in addition to the head office of the party at Asylum Down, Accra to elect a flagbearer to represent the party in the 2024 general elections.
