There were jubilations already being witnessed at the Office of the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The team believes that according to their results, the Vice President has won.

Thus far, reports from the Team Bawumia’s Coalition Centre, Bawumia is leading with 99,938 votes representing 61.53% of 163,186 total cast votes. Kennedy Agyapong is coming second with 37.28% translating to 60,552 votes.

The party will meet at the Accra Sports Stadium to hear the declaration of the winner of the elctions by the Electoral Commissioner. However, a euphoria is already building at the forecourts of the Accra Sports Stadium as party members and journalist troop in in anticipation of the grand announcement.

Eric Agbetor, a member of the Bawumia Campaign team, who is already at the Accra sports Stadium is confident of a landslide victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Team, led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is heading towards the Accra Sports Stadium to be announced as the flagbearer.
According to the Team, the data gathered so far showed that the votes yet to be coalited will not make a significant change to the final overall result.

The competitiveness of the elections have been attributed by leaders of the party to the party’s liberal tradition which encourages free expression of diverse ideas and perspectives.

Results from other coalitions centers across the country points at similar results which is also very close to the polls projections made by the Global Info Analytics.

Bawumia Declared Winner At Accra Sports Stadium

It was a a jubilant and united front at the Accra Sports Stadium when the Electoral Commissioner announced Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the winner.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) elected the sitting Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as its new leader and flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 presidential elections. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, emerged victorious with 61.47% in the NPP primaries, securing the party’s nomination for the race to the presidency.

The certified results announced by a deputy Commissioner of the Electoral Commission, Dr Serebour Quaicoe, disclosed that Dr Bawumia polled 118, 210 votes representing 61.47%, while his closest contender Kennedy Agyapong, polled 71,996 votes representing 37.41%.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto, who placed a distant third polled 1,459 votes representing 0.76%, while Addai-Nimoh managed only 731 votes representing 0.41%.

In all, 192,446 delegates voted in Saturday’s presidential primary, with total valid votes being 193, 346. 900 votes were rejected, and turnout stood at 94.63%.

Dr. Bawumia’s journey to become the governing party’s flagbearer was not without intense competition and political drama, including a strong challenge from Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, and the fallout from the Super Delegates’ Conference.

The NPP primaries leading to the 2024 election were characterized by a heated competition between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a prominent party member and Member of Parliament renowned for his strong and vocal presence within the party. Despite Mr. Agyapong’s robust campaign and assertive stance on various issues, Dr. Bawumia’s extensive experience as Vice President and a meticulously managed campaign ultimately propelled him to secure the nomination.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s vigorous bid for the NPP flagbearer position underscored the party’s internal dynamics and the diverse range of voices within it. Although Agyapong did not clinch the nomination, his noteworthy contribution to the NPP’s political landscape remains significant.

Numbers of party folks trooped in at the forecourts of the Accra Sports Stadium for the declaration of the results. The place was adorned with party colours.

Most of the people there are seen with signages of victory for the Vice President.

On stage, all four candidates were present as a sign of a united front into the 2024 General Elections.
The party acknowledged that the part must remain together to be able to win against the NDC and John Mahama.
