Ghanaian rapper, Medikal has stated that he doesn’t mind patronizing content creators from popular social media app Tiktok to help promote his music.
The “Too Risky” hitmaker stated that these content creators also play a part in helping push Ghanaian artists.
He further added that he even meets up with these content creators on a regular basis as he finds what they do interesting.
“Sometimes, I don’t wait to drop a song before I meet some of the people on Tiktok influencers and dancers. I support them because as you see, they support Ghana music, not just my music. And I find what they are doing interesting,” he said.
Medikal explained his motives for keeping a healthy relationship with these content creators, stating that he considers them part of the entertainment and creative industry and that they are vital to the popularity of songs in Ghana.
“Right now, things have changed. It’s not like a big artist can just drop a song and go to sleep. Because their [Tiktokers] efforts make songs blow up as well,” he said.
“So I don’t wait to drop a song before, like, yeah, I meet them in town. Because it’s entertainment, we are all in the same business, so it’s only right to be nice. So that will also be there for you,” he further stated.
Expressing Sentiments About Being Underrated

Medikal openly expressed his sentiments about being underrated within the Ghanaian music industry.
He believes that his unique style and dedicated efforts have not received the attention and recognition they rightfully deserve.
Medikal shared these feelings and emphasized how he has been able to distinguish his identity from his artist persona while reflecting on some of his significant achievements.
“Sometimes, I feel like I’m underrated. I know how to dissociate myself from the brand Medikal. Some people carry their persona with the brand. I sit down sometimes and watch my shows, and I’ll be like, ‘This guy is dope.’ That’s why I have been able to remain relevant for a long time. It’s not easy,” he shared at one point.
Medikal further highlighted that he believes he deserves more recognition and appreciation from the Ghanaian audience. He clarified that he’s not ungrateful but that he believes he deserves acknowledgment for his persistent hard work.
“I feel underrated; they should give me my flowers. I’m not trying to sound ungrateful; I just feel like there should be more light thrown at me. I am a very hardworking guy, so Ghanaians shouldn’t sleep on me. More attention should be given to me,” he stated.
Defending whether his distinctive style contributed to the lack of attention by the public, “I’m doing everything right. Just that my style is different; people find it hard to accept it,” he said.

Medikal has won the hearts of many Ghanaians through his hip-hop music and is the fastest-rising artist in Ghana at the moment.
The name Medikal was adopted because he was fascinated with rapping about doctors, surgeons, medical practitioners, and hospitals in general.
Before he became a musician, he worked as a professional footballer for Ghana Premier League team Sekondi Hasaacas. He has made a name for himself in the music industry through hard work and numerous collaborations with successful artists.
Apart from his nominations in 2017, he won the best discovery video in the MTN 4Syte Video Award in 2016.
Medikal is known for his fast-paced rap style and witty wordplay in music, and he often incorporates Pidgin English and Ghanaian slang in his music.
