Leadership Shift at MTN: Adadevoh Named Chief Commercial Officer, Blewett Takes Over MTN Ghana

Selorm Adadevoh, the newly appointed Chief Commercial Officer of the MTN Group

In a strategic executive shuffle, Selorm Adadevoh, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, has been appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer of the MTN Group.

This move comes as Jens Schulte-Bockum, the current Group Chief Operating Officer, is set to step down at the end of his contract term in March 2024. Simultaneously, Stephen Blewett, MTN Operations Executive, Markets, will transition into the role of CEO of MTN Ghana, a key subsidiary within the group.

Selorm Adadevoh, who has been at the helm of MTN Ghana since 2018, will bring his wealth of experience to the MTN Group’s executive committee. Adadevoh’s successful leadership in navigating challenging times and steering MTN Ghana through a transformative phase has earned him the confidence of the board.

Under his guidance, MTN Ghana has undergone significant business transformation, aligning with the Ambition 2025 strategy to position the company as a platform player.

Dr. Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of the MTN Ghana Board, expressed confidence in Adadevoh’s ability to excel in his new role as Chief Commercial Officer at the MTN Group. The chairman thanked Adadevoh for his dedicated service over the past five and a half years and acknowledged his pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction.

Stephen Blewett Assumes the Role of Operations Executive for Markets

Meanwhile, Stephen Blewett, who assumed the role of Operations Executive for Markets at MTN in July 2023, will now take charge as the CEO of MTN Ghana. His executive responsibilities span the Group’s smaller West and Central Africa markets, providing crucial operations support across the region.

Blewett’s extensive industry experience, including his previous role as Chief Operating Officer of Digicel and prior tenure at MTN, positions him as a valuable addition to the MTN Ghana leadership.
