The Convention 2024 Flyer

The New Africa Foundation is set to host a maiden event titled ‘The Convention 2024’ scheduled on the 7th of January 2024 at the Kwame Nkrumah Independence Square, coinciding with Ghana’s Constitution Day commemoration.

The event is set to encompass different facets of African excellence, including thoughtful leaders and artists, before an audience from every part of the country, a representation of the ‘macrocosmic’ continent.

The New Africa Foundation also in partnership with Afrokids, will give out 5,000 pairs of shoes to ‘leveled’ people as part of the activities at the event.

Professor PLO Lumumba, Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, Julius Malema, and Peter Obi are the confirmed guests to speak at the maiden Convention scheduled on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Profile Of Speakers At The Convention 2024

The first Speaker for the Convention, Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, a trailblazing leader and Pan-African advocate from Zimbabwe, with a medical background and a commitment to fostering unity among African nations and the diaspora has actively dismantled barriers and created opportunities for collaboration in various fields.

Her efforts in empowering women, promoting gender equality, and championing education and healthcare initiatives contribute to a legacy transcending borders.

Again, the second Speaker is Professor P. L. O. Lumumba who is a distinguished African legal scholar and passionate advocate for good governance and Pan-Africanism from Kenya.

With a significant tenure as the former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, Professor Lumumba has gained global recognition through compelling speeches dissecting African politics and socio-economic challenges. He remains a dynamic force in pursuing African unity and development, inspiring the youth and championing justice.

Furthermore, joining the Convention from South Africa is Julius Malema, a dynamic and influential politician who has captured the hearts of many with his impassioned commitment to social justice and economic equality.

As the founder and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) since 2013, Malema has led a fervent crusade for the rights of the marginalized and the transformation of South Africa’s economic landscape.

With his distinctive ‘red beret’ symbolizing the fight for justice, Malema’s charisma and eloquence have endeared him to a diverse range of supporters who appreciate his bold vision for a more inclusive and equitable society.

Moreover, Peter Obi, a distinguished politician in Nigerian politics with unwavering integrity, exceptional leadership acumen, a background in economics, and a successful stint in business is the last speaker at the maiden Convention scheduled on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Peter Obi who served as the Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014 in Nigeria is noted for his transformative policies, which focused on education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

His frugality and prudent financial management earned him the moniker “the Okwute” which is translated as ‘the Rock’ symbolizing his resilience and steadfast dedication to the welfare of his people.

In addition, the event is expected to have live performances from some talented Ghanaian Artists including Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name as Stonebwoy, who is a Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall, and reggae musician. He is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Burniton Music Group.

Other Artists include Noella Wiyaala Nwadei popularly known under the stage name Wiyaala, a Ghanaian Afro-pop singer-songwriter who sings in her native language Sissala and Waala dialects and English, often combining all three languages within her songs and Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor better known by her stage name as Efya, a Ghanaian singer and songwriter.
