Charterhouse, the organization behind Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), has challenged gospel singer Brother Sammy to provide proof of the recent accusations he made concerning colleague artiste Nacee and the TGMA board.
Brother Sammy asserted that he was not nominated for an award because he believes Nacee, who was part of the nomination board, harbored a grudge against him, and claimed that he would only be nominated for an award if he (Nacee) died.
Reacting to the claims, the Public Relations Officer for Charterhouse, Robert Klah, denied these assertions.
He stated that Nacee isn’t part of the board and urged Sammy to stop making false statements.
“With respect to the board bit, I can confidently say that Nacee is not on it. The Bible commands us to tell the truth. And Brother Sammy is a gospel musician, which means that he should be aligned with the tenets of the Bible.”

Klah further dared Brother Sammy to show any proof that Nacee was on the board or else stop making such claims.
“I dare him to prove, to submit any form of evidence that clearly shows that Nacee is on the board because this doesn’t sit well with us. And it’s inappropriate for him to say that. If you suspect it, that doesn’t mean that it is. If he can’t [provide evidence], then he should forever hold his peace with respect to this.”

The PRO for Charterhouse also stated that all artists’ work, including Brother Sammy’s, would undergo fair review for award nominations if submitted.
“If he submits his work just like any other person, at the end of the day, it will be reviewed. And once it is reviewed and there is any merit to it in any of the categories, it will be reviewed and if it has to be there, it will certainly be put in there.”

Robert Klah hoped that everyone would focus on truthfulness and avoid legal issues over false accusations.
Robert Assures 2024 TGMA Noncandidate’s On Decision Regarding Petitions
Robert Klah disclosed that detailed information regarding petitions from some artists who were excluded from the nominations will soon be released.
He emphasized that any errors in the nomination process will be acknowledged and rectified accordingly.
After the 2024 TGMA nominee list was unveiled, concerns were raised by artists like Amerado and Sista Afia who found their songs missing from the nominations.
However, Robert Klah assured that discussions regarding the petitions have taken place within the TGMA board, and decisions will be made public in due course.
“There will be forthcoming information regarding all submissions received for the Ghana Music Awards and the resulting nominees. This has to do with the one-week window. It’s been over the board. The meeting by the board has been held, and so information will come out.
“If there is any form of error or any form of omission concerning what has been done, it will certainly be communicated, and rectification will be made. So it depends on what the details of the submission are and what the details of the rectification may be. So let’s just leave that for when it is shared with the public.”

Robert Klah also urged artists with concerns about the nominations to come forward, stressing Charterhouse’s commitment to collaborating with artists and nurturing positive relationships.
“If any artist for any reason is not comfortable with it, they should reach out to us. It’s always good for us to dialogue. My position is to engage with the community so they don’t feel any reason that there’s somebody out there against them.
“We are there for you. We are doing this with you, and we want to encourage that kind of relationship every time.”
