Davido Reveals Top Picks For Collaborations

Davido, Kizz Daniel, Chris Brown, and Zlatan

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Davido has opened up on his collaborative ventures, shedding light on some of his favorite artists to work with.

The artist took the opportunity to shed light on his fruitful collaborations with fellow artists, including Kizz Daniel, Zlatan, and international sensation Chris Brown.

Notably, he expressed his deep appreciation for the collaborative synergy shared with Kizz Daniel, a fellow Nigerian artist.

Together, Davido and Kizz Daniel have delivered chart-topping hits such as “One Ticket” and the more recent “Twe Twe” remix, captivating audiences with their rhythms and lyrics.

Furthermore, Davido lauded his creative partnership with Zlatan, another Nigerian artist.

The duo joined forces on multiple occasions, churning out crowd-pleasers like “Osanle” and “Money.”

Davido while expressing discontent with confining his collaborations to the Nigerian music scene, also highlighted his successful ventures with international superstar Chris Brown.

The pair’s collaborative efforts have yielded smash hits such as “Blow My Mind” and “Sensational.”

Davido exuded confidence in his artistic abilities, boldly proclaiming himself as “Big Me.”

Netizens reacted to his bold statement.

Also, Davido is the latest Nigerian artist to denounce Afrobeats after Wizkid, Burna Boy and Fireboy recently ditched the genre.

Appearing on the latest edition of the Business Untitled Podcast, the ‘OBO’ crooner lamented the “boxing” of all African artists into the Afrobeats genre regardless of their musical styles.

“The first place that accepted African music outside Africa was the UK before America later joined. The UK termed African music Afrobeats. Afrobeat is a sound that was originally pioneered by Fela Kuti. But now all African songs are termed Afrobeats. If an African artiste sings pure R&B, sounding like SZA, or Summerwalker, they put them under Afrobeats. If an African rapper raps like Drake, they still put them under Afrobeats.

“I don’t get offended when we’re being categorized as Afrobeats. I mean, we need a genre. It could be R&B or Afropop. I call my music Afrofusion but I’m not big on ‘Oh put Afrofusion on my song.’ I know how long it took for African music to become mainstream.”

Generosity Displayed By Fanbase

Davido shared an intriguing tale of how he amassed a substantial sum of $600,000 from his devoted fans during his birthday celebration.

The afrobeat star disclosed the remarkable story, shedding light on the extraordinary generosity displayed by his fanbase.

Davido recounted the genesis of this extraordinary windfall, attributing it to a lighthearted social media post made on the occasion of his birthday.

Having acquired a luxurious Cullinan car, the singer took to his social media page, playfully soliciting financial assistance from his legion of supporters to facilitate the customs clearance of his new vehicle upon its arrival in Nigeria.

Citing the exorbitant costs associated with importing cars into the country, Davido appealed for contributions, sparking an unexpected outpouring of generosity from his ardent followers.

The singer shared that the response to his appeal surpassed all expectations, with fans from far and wide rallying behind him.

According to Davido, with just one post, he was able to rally his fanbase into action, resulting in an overwhelming influx of monetary contributions totaling $600,000.

In other news, reports emerged suggesting that Afrobeat sensation Davido’s much-talked-about Bombardier private jet has landed in Nigeria.

This arrival comes amidst a swirl of controversy and speculation regarding the ownership and authenticity of the luxurious aircraft.

David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, set social media ablaze weeks ago when he unveiled the lavish interior of what he claimed to be his newly acquired N102 billion Bombardier private jet, dubbing it his “Bombie baby.”

However, this announcement was met with skepticism and criticism from some quarters.
