The National Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo Esq. has called on the general public, particularly the youth, who do not have voter identification cards to seize the opportunity to acquire one as the Electoral Commission commences the 2024 limited voter registration exercise.

Lawyer Opare Addo in a statement emphasized that the acquisition of the voter identification card by every citizens would go a long way to shape the future of the country.

Lawyer Opare Addo also accused the governing New Patriotic Party administration for mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy coupled with the widespread hardship and a lack of viable solutions to pressing issues facing the country.

“Corruption is on the rise, our currency is plummeting, and our energy sector is burdened with challenges like power cuts and soaring fuel costs. As young people, this is our opportunity to contribute to building the Ghana we want to see – a Ghana free from corruption, with a thriving economy and stable energy sector”.

The National Youth Organizer for the opposition National Democratic Congress in his scathing critique further chastised President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he described as President Akufo-Addo’s “favored successor” of displaying apathy towards addressing the country’s most pressing concerns.

He described the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of being dishonest and lacking integrity to lead the country.

In an earlier remarks, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Honorable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey also urged Ghanaian citizens to seize the opportunity to shape the country’s future by registering to vote in the upcoming December 07, 2024 general elections.

Mr Kwetey in his remarks underscored the critical role of citizens participation in the democratic process, highlighting voter registration as the fundamental first step towards realizing a brighter tomorrow for Ghana.

He stressed that every vote cast is not merely a choice but a commitment to the collective endeavor of nation-building.

The opposition party’s chief scribe while underscoring the pivotal role of every citizen in shaping the destiny of the country implored those who have not yet registered with the Electoral Commission to take immediate action to register.

He emphasized that their involvement is essential for the realization of a Ghana that aligns with the aspirations of all its people.
