Nigerian celebrities have taken to their Instagram pages to mark the posthumous birthday of their colleague and friend, Junior Pope.
Actress, Rachael Okonkwo took to her Instagram story to express heartbreak over how she can no longer call him to wish him a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday to you OYOM. I can’t even call you as usual to wish you a happy birthday. May God accept your soul and grant you eternal rest. You’ll forever be in our hearts.
“Happy birthday to you regardless… nwannem you will forever be in our hearts. Oyom, may God grant you eternal rest. I wish I could still call you as usual to wish you a happy birthday unfortunately it’s no longer possible. I just wish all these stories were a prank, however, I can’t fight God. Jee nke oma onyem.”

Nollywood producer, Stanley Nwoko noted how this is his first birthday without his family, fans, and colleagues. He expressed how saddened his heart is that they can’t see him anymore as he noted how death took him away like a thief, however, he gives thanks to God.
“Posthumous Birthday Swag Nation. Nollywood misses you JP, your fans miss you, and your family misses you. How I wish God could give you a second chance. It really breaks my heart to the lowest that we are celebrating your birthday today in your absence. You were a great man, always smiling, always lively, and fun to be with. Hours ago, Nosa Rex otherwise known as Baba Rex noted how today would have been his [Junior Pope] birthday and they would have been celebrating. However, since he hasn’t been laid to rest, he is wishing him a happy birthday.
Also celebrating his [Junior Pope] posthumous birthday, Rita Edochie penned a lengthy note to him, noting how she can no longer celebrate his birthday with him physically.
She stated that her heart is once more feeling shattered and she is trying to make herself believe that he is no more. Throwing some questions at him, she made it known that she takes solace in knowing that he is watching over them.
Family of Junior Pope Releases Official Burial Plans
The family of late Nollywood actor, Pope Odonwodo, better known as Junior Pope, has issued a new poster about his burial arrangement plan.
It appears the deceased family bowed to pressure as they included the actor’s wife in the burial arrangements.
It can be recalled that backlash trailed as an old poster emerged online after the word ‘husband’ was omitted in the tributes segment. Junior Pope’s family later stated that the viral poster was not authorized.
This was corrected in the new poster as the tributes revealed Junior Pope as a son, brother, husband, father, and grandson. According to the new poster, Junior Pope will buried on May 17, 2025, in his hometown in Enugu.
