OmniBSIC Bank Ghana Boosts Customer Accessibility with New Branch Locations

OmniBSIC Bank Ghana, recognized as the fastest-growing bank in the country, has undertaken a strategic initiative to better serve its expanding customer base by relocating two of its branches.

This move highlights the bank’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for its clients, particularly in the Western and Greater Accra Regions.

In the Western Region, the Tarkwa branch has been moved to a new prime location at Plot No. 7A near the old DVLA office on Hospital Road. This central position is expected to significantly improve customer access to the bank’s services, providing a more convenient and efficient banking experience.

Similarly, in the Greater Accra Region, the Adabraka branch has been relocated to Nii Amugi Street, 46 Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, Adabraka. This new site places the branch in a more prominent and accessible location, thereby facilitating better service delivery and increased convenience for customers.

The management of OmniBSIC Bank Ghana is confident that these relocations will enhance their ability to engage with and support their clientele more effectively. The central positioning of both branches is anticipated to attract a larger customer base, offering an improved banking experience that aligns with the bank’s growth and customer service goals.

Bernice Asamoah, a divisional head of the bank, highlighted the advantages of the new locations.

“The new locations are much more central and allow us to reach our clients easily and become more accessible. Moving to these prime areas in the Tarkwa and Adabraka municipalities enables us to do more and serve more clients, which is beneficial for both the branches and the Bank as a whole. We are more than grateful to management for the relocation.”

These relocations are part of OmniBSIC Bank’s ongoing efforts to improve customer service, enhance brand visibility and increase operational efficiency. By situating branches in more strategic locations, the Bank aims to meet the evolving needs of its customers and strengthen their relationship.

The bank was recently adjudged the fastest-growing bank in Ghana at the 13th annual Global Banks & Finance Awards. Also, a new report by the Bank of Ghana has shown that OmniBSIC Ghana provided the lowest interest rate of 33.06 percent on loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in March 2024 over a period of five years.

Lowest Interest Rates to SMEs

Even as it provides the lowest interest rates to SMEs over a five-year term, the bank, according to the report, is in the top two banks that provide the lowest interest rates to SMEs over a year and a three-year term. This positions the bank as the true bank of SMEs.

The annualised percentage rate (APR) report released by the Bank of Ghana in April 2024 captured interest rates offered by 23 banks in the country. “The APR reflects the true cost of a loan that economic agents are confronted with when they go through an approval process to secure a loan facility. It comprises the Ghana Reference Rate, bank specific risk-premia and other bank-specific charges,” the Bank of Ghana said.

OmniBSIC Bank is a fully-fledged universal bank that traces its roots to a merger between the erstwhile OmniBank and Sahel Sahara Bank. The merger was spurred by the banking sector consolidation programme introduced by the Bank of Ghana (BOG) in 2017, through a number of directives, including the almost fourfold increase in the minimum capital requirement.

The union between the banks is one of the most successful mergers in the financial services industry. It can be described as synergistic since both banks shared similarities in business models, values, and customer experience and were both committed to offering exceptional customer service in Ghana’s banking industry.

This milestone was achieved through the collaborative effort of shareholders, directors, management, and staff, who showed a willingness to embrace change to become bigger and better in the banking industry.

OmniBSIC has reinforced its corporate governance structures and invested in its infrastructure to align with BOG’s corporate governance and other regulatory directives. The bank is dedicated to maintaining the highest level of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all operations, thereby creating a reliable framework for clients to conduct their banking activities with us.
