Kwame Governs Agbodza, Minister of Roads and Highways

Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minority Chief Whip and MP for Adaklu, has sounded a warning to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, MP for Abetifi, to refrain from any attempts to interfere with the integrity of the 2024 elections.

He drew attention to the deadly violence that marred the 2020 elections, claiming eight lives, and sternly cautioned that any recurrence of such bloodshed in 2024 would be utterly unacceptable.

Agbodza, speaking in Adaklu with NDC flagbearer John Mahama by his side, warned that the opposition would not stand idly by if anyone attempted to subvert the electoral process or undermine its integrity.

“The current commander-in-chief appears to lose control to the extent that miscreants in his government are threatening the peace and security of this country. I am talking about my colleague in parliament Bryan Acheampong threatening that the sea will burn because they are going to try to rig the elections.

“I have a simple message for you my colleague just as you have been defeated in the hostile takeover of the hotels belonging to SSNIT, you will surely fail if you attempt to use force to do anything.”

Agbodza issued a stern warning to security personnel and others contemplating disrupting the election in the Volta Region, cautioning that any such attempts would be met with fierce resistance and potentially put them at risk of becoming casualties themselves.

He cautioned the NPP against threatening Ghanaians, warning that their party would face defeat and be the first to abandon ship when confronted with the repercussions of their actions.

The Minority Chief Whip confidently asserted that President Mahama’s victory is assured, and President Akufo-Addo will have no choice but to transfer power to him, warning that the ruling party’s attempts to cling to power are utterly baseless.

He also alleged that the NPP is plotting to repeat the egregious actions of 2020, when eight innocent Ghanaians lost their lives in an unprecedented election-related violence and warned against a recurrence of such brutality.

“If you are a security personnel or anyone being trained at least the boundary of the Volta region before you cross with that mindset, be prepared that it is self-defense, and you might become the victim, this is a promise, it is not a threat”.

Mahama Warns Of NPP’s Empty Promises

Furthermore, John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, cautioned Ghanaians against being deceived by the NPP’s forthcoming manifesto, warning them not to fall for its promises.

Mahama lambasted the NPP as a ‘government of deceit’, asserting that they have failed to deliver on their past promises, leaving a trail of unfulfilled commitments.

He castigated the NPP’s newly constituted 11-member committee, tasked with launching their manifesto on August 18, 2024, in Takoradi, asserting that the event will merely showcase a plethora of empty promises.

“This is a government full of lies and promises. On the 18th of August they will launch the manifesto of lies, and they will tell you ‘We are coming to do this for you’. They say the first fool, is not a fool, the second fool is not a fool, who is the third fool? The third fool is the real fool. They said one child, one egg, one child one chocolate, all are lies.”

“Ghana needs an experienced hand who has handled this country before and whose work we have seen. And so we are not going to try anybody”.

He emphasized that Ghana is shifting its focus back to prioritizing experience and expertise in leadership.

He stated that Ghana is returning to a culture of expertise, where experience and knowledge are harnessed to transform the country and create a more promising tomorrow for its young people.
