Haruna Mohammed, NPP’s Deputy General Secretary, has confidently asserted that the New Patriotic Party will always maintain its position as the dominant force in Ghana’s political landscape.
Mohammed revealed that the NPP’s goal of breaking the eight is driven by a renewed sense of purpose under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership, focused on sustaining and intensifying development efforts to improve the lives of Ghanaians and make a lasting impact on the country’s political history.
He pointed out that the NPP’s flagbearer, as the current Vice President, has shown remarkable courage and leadership by spearheading 36 key policies, demonstrating his capabilities and commitment to driving positive change.
“In his bid to assist this is what he has been able to achieve as Vice President. If he is given the opportunity to become the President and to lead, he will be able to do more than what he did as Vice President”.
“In terms of policy, we are the first government to invest hugely in health infrastructure in Ghana since the inception of the Fourth Republic. The NPP manifesto is so critical on the provision of health services to the citizens of Ghana”.
Haruna Mohammed
Mohammed further assured that the NPP is committed to providing the necessary infrastructure and adequate healthcare personnel to strengthen health institutions, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services and ensuring improved health outcomes for all.
He noted Dr. Bawumia’s pioneering efforts in the health sector, including the launch of the drone delivery initiative, which has transformed healthcare service delivery, reduced associated risks, and improved the overall quality of healthcare services.
Mohammed also debunked the claim that hospital projects initiated under the NDC administration were abandoned by the NPP government, describing it as a baseless and misleading assertion.
He pointed out that all hospital projects initiated by the NDC administration have been successfully completed and are now fully operational, serving the intended communities and providing much-needed healthcare services.
He highlighted that the NPP government has achieved a major milestone in strengthening the health sector, having recruited around 15,000 health professionals, the largest expansion of human resources in the sector’s history.
NPP To Continue Nursing Trainee Allowances
Furthermore, Haruna Mohammed assured that the NPP government will continue to provide allowances to nursing trainees, ensuring their financial support and well-being throughout their training.
He assured that the NPP government will persist in partnering with the private sector to secure resources, ensuring that student nurses have access to adequate infrastructure that meets their educational and social requirements.

Mohammed further criticized the previous NDC administration for neglecting to invest in health infrastructure, despite abolishing trainees’ allowances under the pretext of redirecting funds towards improving healthcare facilities.
“Provision of healthcare services to the elderly is very essential. To provide healthcare to the elderly, we need to have availability of hospitals, and then access is also very important. We [the NPP] are going to work to make sure that all the Agenda 111 hospitals we have put across will be completed to accommodate these health needs of the elderly”.
Haruna Mohammed
He promised that the next NPP government will provide ongoing incentives to support the elderly, who are disproportionately affected by chronic diseases, ensuring they receive uninterrupted access to quality healthcare services.
Mohammed stated that the next NPP government will conduct a thorough assessment of the specific health needs of the elderly and deliver targeted services that address their most pressing concerns.
He proudly highlighted the NPP’s accomplishment in establishing a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to vaccine production, a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare development.
He emphasized that the NPP is committed to addressing the health needs of all Ghanaians, and will work to improve and expand healthcare services to promote overall well-being, growth, and development.
