Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Essikado-Ketan Constituency has expressed her deep disappointment over what she described as the NPP’s persistent disdain and disrespect towards women, especially within her constituency.

Dr Ayensu-Danquah’s criticism was particularly directed at certain elements within the NPP’s Essikado-Ketan Constituency, whom she accused of engaging in smear campaigns and resorting to underhanded tactics to undermine her candidacy.

“I, Grace Ayensu Danquah, will not be swayed by the baseless accusations made by Sir Charles Obama, a serial caller of the NPP. His attempts to tarnish my reputation with claims of disrespect and arrogance will not distract me from my mission to bring progress and development to our constituency”.

Emphasizing her strong roots in the community, Dr Ayensu-Danquah highlighted her commitment to uplifting Essikado-Ketan Constituency, drawing a stark contrast between herself and the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate.

The Humanitarian Surgeon did not shy away from addressing the personal attacks against her, particularly those centered on her education and character.

Dr. Ayensu-Danquah, an alumna of Holy Child Secondary School and Arch Bishop Potter Girls Secondary School, contrasted her spotless educational and professional record with the alleged misconduct of her opponent, who she claimed was dismissed from Nsein Secondary School for assaulting a teacher.

Allegation of Misconduct against Political Opponent

Additionally, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for the Essikado-Ketan Constituency condemned what she described as her opponent’s “well-documented” disrespect for women, citing his marital history as evidence of his disregard for women’s dignity.

“He has a wife with children in London, yet has come to Ghana to marry again, showcasing his disregard for women’s dignity,” she alleged.

Dr Ayensu-Danquah also criticized the conduct of her opponent and his supporters during the NPP primaries, where she claimed the only female contestant was relentlessly attacked.

This behaviour, according to her, is indicative of the broader culture of misogyny within the New Patriotic Party, particularly in Essikado-Ketan Constituency.

In stark contrast to her opponent, Dr Ayensu-Danquah asserted her own record of integrity, noting that she has never been involved in any corrupt activities or misconduct.

“I have never been implicated in any corrupt activities, such as receiving galamsey bribe monies, and I have never engaged in physical altercations”.

She further challenged “Sir Obama” a social media activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party to name a single project that her opponent has executed in the constituency, aside from engaging in what she described as “insulting and bullying women”.

Dr. Ayensu-Danquah expressed her unwavering commitment to serving the people of Essikado-Ketan, with a vision centred on prosperity, sustainable development and transformation to improve the lives of her constituents.

“My vision remains clear: to bring joy and a better life to my people, and to prove that a woman can lead with integrity and strength,” she declared.

Despite what Dr Ayensu-Danquah described as the New Patriotic Party’s “old, dirty propaganda tactics” and their “blatant disregard for women,” she underscored her undeterredness toward her mission to lead with dignity and respect.

She reaffirmed her strongest disapproval towards gender-based attacks, stressing her unwavering commitment to serve her constituency, and further encouraging voters, particularly those who share her concerns about the treatment of women in politics.
