Independent Parliamentary Candidate Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the Gomoa Central Constituency through a robust economic vision centered on creating a 24-hour economy.
Mr Asare-Obeng, in a compelling statement, outlined his comprehensive development plan, which aims to harness the region’s resources and strategic location to foster a vibrant, round-the-clock business environment.
In his statement, Mr Asare-Obeng emphasized the unique opportunities within Gomoa Central, pointing to its fertile lands and existing infrastructure as key assets that can be leveraged for economic growth.
“While we face challenges in the Gomoa Central Constituency, we have the opportunity to create a vibrant business district between Asebu and Pomadze, or at ABEA, Jukwaa, and Ekwamkrom. This area can become a hub for residents across the Central Region and parts of the Eastern Region to shop 24/7”.

He also highlighted the underutilized large dam established by former President John Dramani Mahama, which he noted provides ample water resources for year-round farming, underscoring his promise to support local farmers by ensuring they receive the necessary inputs and equipment to enhance production.
Additionally, he proposed establishing a 24-hour farmers’ market in Gomoa Afransi, where people from the Eastern, Central, and Greater Accra Regions can buy fresh produce at any time.
Building a Local Economy That Works for All
Expanding on his vision, the renowned political activist, Kwame Asare-Obeng questioned the need for residents to travel long distances for essential goods and services.
“Why should people travel from Cape Coast to Abossey Okai for car parts? Or trek to Kantamanto and Okaishie for groceries, used clothes, and shoes for resale?” he asked.
He proposed the creation of an automobile market near Winneba Junction as a feasible project that would save residents time and money while boosting the local economy.
Advocating for his 24-hour economy plan, Mr Asare-Obeng argued that this approach would significantly reduce unemployment by creating jobs through a two-shift system that keeps businesses operating around the clock.
“Vote for the 24-hour economy! Vote for Kwame Asare-Obeng! Whether Bawumia wins or Mahama wins, the 24-hour economy is the next big thing and the best way to go.”

Criticism of Opponents and Call for Serious Leadership
Mr Asare-Obeng did not hold back in his criticism of his political rivals, particularly the candidates from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He characterized the NDC candidate as a typical example of the politicians that have plagued Ghana’s 4th Republic, alleging that his opponent is merely looking to exploit the political system for personal gain.
“He is a broke guy who sees politics as an opportunity to make ends meet. He is looking for your votes to settle his debts and buy a Land Cruiser when he wins, with little left for you and the development of Gomoa”.

Turning his attention to the NPP candidate, Asare-Obeng dismissed her campaign message as uninspiring and indicative of a lack of serious commitment to the constituency’s future.
“Your NPP candidate is going around with the campaign message, ‘Please, I’m an old woman, give me one last chance to retire in peace.’ LET’S GET SERIOUS!” he exclaimed.
Delivering Results and Driving Change
Demonstrating his ability to deliver tangible results, Mr Asare-Obeng highlighted recent accomplishments that underline his capacity to effect change independently of central government support.
He announced the near completion of the Dahom to Gyaman road and the introduction of free internet access in Gomoa Asebu.
“I will also start the reconstruction of the Gomoa Obuase primary school this week. The 100 Ghana cedis for ten thousand women project is ongoing. I have the means and the influence to make Gomoa Central rise again”.
