The youth of Atwima Mponua community in the Ashanti Region has stormed the street calling for the swift ratification of a mining lease agreement between the government and Ashanti Bauxite Limited. A mineral resource estimate at Nyinahin, located within the Ashanti Region, indicates a minimum deposit of 375,000,000 metric tons of bauxite within hills 4, 5, and 6. These findings follow earlier estimates, which revealed that the first three hills in the region hold approximately 116,000,000 metric tons of bauxite.
