Kennedy Agyapong on politics and presidential jet after helicopter crash

Kennedy Agyapong, former MP Assin Central

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, the astute Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has sounded a note of caution to New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the Essikado-Ketan constituency.

Hon. Agyapong warned the NPP supporters not to underestimate the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, emphasizing the need for vigilance and a strong campaign to secure victory.

Kennedy Agyapong emphasized that to maintain the seat for the NPP after 20 years of dominance, Joseph Bissue must work tirelessly to convince voters.

He emphasized that a unified and concerted effort from all stakeholders is essential to counter the formidable challenge presented by Dr. Grace Danquah and ensure a triumphant outcome for the NPP.

“I plead with you, let’s not treat this as a funfair but go to the various houses and spread the good word. Do not underestimate the Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC who is contesting. Do not underestimate her.

“She has contested a sitting MP twice. The last time, the sitting MP had 26,000 votes, and she had 24,000.”

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong

The NPP stalwart warned that complacency could be the party’s downfall, emphasizing that taking the Essikado-Ketan constituency for granted would be a grave mistake.

He emphasized that anything less than a strong and concerted campaign effort could lead to a shocking upset, allowing the opposition to capitalize on the party’s complacency and snatch the seat.

With great urgency, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong called on the NPP executives and the parliamentary candidate to join forces and cultivate a spirit of unity, emphasizing that a cohesive party is essential for success.

He underscored the importance of a unified approach, noting that a house divided would inevitably fall, and that only through solidarity could they achieve victory.

NPP Warned Against Repeating Past Mistakes

Meanwhile, Akosua Kozie Manu, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan, cautioned Ghanaians against repeating the “mistakes of the past”, specifically referencing the 2008 elections, and urged them to make informed decisions that would shape a brighter future.

NPP SUPPORTERS

She contended that the decision to vote NDC in 2008 had the unintended consequence of erasing the substantial advancements and accomplishments of the NPP’s eight-year rule, from 2000 to 2008, setting the country back in its development trajectory.

“I plead, please let’s not repeat what happened in 2008 again. NPP must continue. When we say breaking the eight, NPP comes in, builds the foundation, builds the first floor, then Ghanaians make a mistake and go for the opposition, then they destroy the first floor and the foundation.

“2024 we won’t repeat that mistake again. We are moving forward with Dr. Bawumia”.

Akosua Kozie Manu,

Manu also took a swipe at Adamu Ramadan, the NDC Member of Parliament for Adentan, accusing him of falsely claiming credit for projects she had initiated, in an apparent attempt to mislead constituents and undermine her achievements.

Manu dismissed the NDC Parliamentary candidate’s claims, urging the constituents to ignore his boasts, as he is utterly unfamiliar with the projects she has spearheaded, and is thus unqualified to take credit or claim ownership.

The NPP further expressed its confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the party’s dream ticket for the 2024 presidential election, hailing them as the perfect duo to lead Ghana towards a brighter future.

The NPP highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s impressive track record, reminding the public that his numerous accomplishments and commendable contributions as Vice President are well-known and widely acknowledged.

The party confidently assured that should Ghanaians entrust Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh with their mandate, they will undoubtedly reap the rewards of wise leadership and never have cause to regret their decision.

Thus, the NPP passionately appealed to Ghanaians to seize the opportunity and vote for the exceptional leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh during this election, securing a prosperous tomorrow for generations to come.
