As Ghana approaches the 2024 upcoming general elections a notable figure within the Ada Community Nene Kakepemu has delivered a confident and bold message regarding the National Democratic Congress (NDC), dominance in the Ada constituency.

Speaking with authority, he predicted an overwhelming victory for the NDC in the upcoming elections, dismissing the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) chances of making any significant gains in the region.

Kakepemu’s insights were characterized by unwavering confidence and a clear understanding of the electoral dynamics within Ada.

In his remarks, Kakepemu stressed the deep-rooted support for the NDC within Ada, drawing from past electoral results.

He explained that the party had consistently enjoyed massive support from the constituency, noting that in the last election, the NDC had secured 84.2% of the vote.

However, he expressed certainty that the party’s margin of victory would increase significantly this time around.

“I’m telling you with authority that this time, NDC is going to get 94, 95% in the vote in Ada.”

He underscored his confidence in the people’s unwavering loyalty to the NDC, emphasizing that no amount of external influence or resources from the NPP would change the outcome.

According to him, the people of Ada are solidly behind the NDC, and this will be reflected in the election results. He noted; “Every time posters, Flag, am telling you is not a flag [which] vote in Ada. It’s the people [who] vote.”

He further explained that while political parties often put a lot of effort into campaign processes, such as hoisting flags and organizing events, these activities would not sway the voters in Ada.

He firmly believed that the voters’ loyalty to the NDC was unshakable.

Rejecting NPP’s Prospects

Kakepemu expressed strong skepticism about the NPP’s ability to make any inroads in Ada, stating emphatically that the ruling party had no chance of competing with the NDC in the region.

He dismissed the notion that monetary inducements or other incentives could influence the outcome of the election, particularly in a stronghold like Ada. He added; “NPP cannot get a chance. They cannot get a chance at all near to NDC in Ada.”

“This election year, people will go out [and] find money for people, people would talk, people would say becuase of this [and that], I would give you this but I’m telling you, money and trucks didn’t change any vote in Ada. Ada is NDC [stronghold].”

This sentiment was expressed with resolute certainty, as Kakepemu suggested that the electorate in Ada is politically conscious and values the principles of the NDC more than any material offers from the opposition.

Preparedness to Protect the Ballot

Addressing concerns about electoral irregularities, specifically the protection of the ballot in Ada, Kakepemu was unflinching in his response.

There have been fears expressed by some NDC supporters that, despite voting for the party, their votes may not always be adequately protected during the electoral process.

In response to these concerns, Kakepemu assured that the NDC was fully prepared to safeguard the integrity of the ballots in Ada.

He explained that Ada’s unique geography makes it difficult for any individual or group to tamper with the voting process or steal ballot boxes. The constituency, according to Kakepemu, is strategically located in a way that makes any such activities highly risky and impractical.

“Adan is just one way. Adan is not like a Nima, where if you pass here, you can dodge here, you can dodge there. So, carrying ballot boxes in Ada, you cannot.”

He further illustrated how difficult it would be for anyone attempting to manipulate the process, particularly those unfamiliar with the terrain.

According to him, those who might consider tampering with the ballots would face serious challenges in navigating Ada.

“Where I’m standing here, [I’ll be at that park]. If you take the ballot boxes, where are you going to pass? Are you going to Akopko, or are you going to Konko?”

Kakepemu strongly warned against any attempts to interfere with the electoral process, noting that anyone attempting to steal ballot boxes would be putting themselves in significant danger.

“If you come to Ada and you prepare your mind that you have coming to carry ballot boxes, you are going to put yourself in a problem. So don’t try.”

In his address, Ada Kakepemu left no room for doubt regarding the NDC’s dominance in the Ada constituency.

His unwavering confidence, based on past electoral performance and his intimate knowledge of the constituency’s political landscape, points to a resounding victory for the NDC in the upcoming elections. Furthermore, his assurance of the party’s preparedness to protect the ballots underscores the NDC’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process in Ada.

As Nene Kakepemu emphasized, the people of Ada have consistently supported the NDC, and this time, they are expected to do so even more decisively.
