Blakk Rasta Expresses Worry Over How Songs Fizzle

Ghanaian musician and broadcaster, Blakk Rasta, has expressed worry over how fast songs fizzle out in recent times.

Blakk Rasta said a lot of songs haven’t been able to stand the test of time because the musicians usually follow trends.

“I remember Lucky Dube once said he never went into the studio to make hits. He went into the studio to speak into the microphone and if the songs come out and they become hits because people resonate with the message, then it’s a different thing.”

According to Blakk Rasta, anytime he had resolved to produce a hit song, it eluded him.

Citing the reason for this, he noted that “hits come with trends unless it happens and then it becomes the first out of a chain of trends.”

He noted that even though he expected Stonebwoy’s ‘Jejereje’ to hit the rafters in terms of its visibility, its popularity went down in a few days.

“With no disrespect, love, I mean Stonebwoy is my brother, I love him. He knows I love him. ‘Jejereje’ came out. We were all banging on it. I was in Nkroful when it came out.

“I said ‘Wow’, this is a great song. I loved the song. After one week, ‘Jejereje’ has gone to sleep. I love it, I want to see ‘Jejereje’ go all the way to the top.”

Further buttressing his premise, he said King Paluta’s ‘Aseda’ and ‘Makoma’ also got dislodged by Stonebwoy’s ‘Jejereje’ which also did not last in the trends.

The song, released on September 2024 generated a lot of excitement among music lovers, with a lot of social media users creating various forms of content with it.

It has, since its release, generated a lot of controversy with its lyrical content. While some have described it as a jab at Stonebwoy’s rival artists, others have also read latent political meanings to it.

In the meantime, the video of the ‘Jejereje’ has garnered approximately 1.3 million views on YouTube.

Musician Vows to Leave Ghana If Bawumia Becomes President

Ghanaian media personality, Blakk Rasta has once again stated that he will leave Ghana if the Vice President, Bawumia becomes the President of Ghana.

The musician made this statement during one of his shows. Blakk Rasta claims Bawumia as the Vice President has led Ghana into poverty, pain, lies, and suffering.

According to him, he, as well as Ghanaians has been suffering for the past 4 years, and he thinks that is enough, so, should the vice president become the president, he would leave the country to seek greener pastures elsewhere.

Blakk Rasta stated that the Vice President has told more lies than satan who many regard as the worst, saying, “Dr. Bawumia has told more lies than Satan ever told to Adam and Eve”.

Blakk Rasta revealed that galamsey among other evil bedeviling acts will continue to exist should Bawumia become the next president of Ghana.

“A vote for Dr. Bawumia is a vote to continue illegal mining and had economic policies. He is the only candidate in this election to go against his policies. He has failed woefully and is a disgrace to the economy.”

Blakk Rasta

Blakk Rasta’s comment follows the Vice President’s aspirations to be elected as President. Dr. Bawumia has recently highlighted several visions for the country if he gets the nod to be President.

However, the Vice President has received backlash over some of his initiatives. The concerns of many Ghanaians are that Dr. Bawumia cannot exclude himself from the shambolic management of the economy because he forms part of the government.
