CLOSSAG to Strike Over Salary Structure Dispute

Austin Gamey Labour Consultant

In light of the ongoing partisan deadlock Amid Parliamentary contentions, MPs are advised to seek expert advice in resolving this parliamentary impasse.

Labour Consultant Mr. Austin Gamey, a respected labor consultant and mediator, has voiced a clear pathway toward a solution.

According to Austin Gamey, a well-structured, facilitated mediation is needed, with a mediator with experience managing such complex processes.

“I saw from 3 or 4 weeks ago that this problem will persist, cannot be resolved; it would be a partisan-led thing.”

Consequently, Austin Gamey contacted key parliamentary figures, urging them to consider his mediation approach. He emphasized his willingness to dedicate his time to facilitating discussions between the opposing sides.

A Structured Process for Mediation

Austin Gamey proposed a structured process to bring both parties together. This plan would involve separate consultations with the minority and majority factions, followed by a combined session with the Speaker of Parliament.

“I will spend one and a half hours with you, the minority people [and] I will spend one and a half hours with you, the majority people. And I will engage the speaker and bring the two-three sides together within a maximum period of 3 hours.”

By breaking down the mediation into stages, he hopes to create a conducive environment for dialogue.

Austin Gamey further emphasized the need for an experienced mediator, stating that other influential figures may not possess the necessary skills for the task.

“The big people who are going to them, they can only go and lament and express concern. They are not experts. They are not mediators. They cannot mediate in this matter.’’

Reaching Out for Support

Despite his proactive approach, Austin Gamey encountered limited initial responses to his offer.

However, he noted recent progress, as certain individuals began reaching out to him, showing interest in his proposed mediation.

“Yesterday, I know that some of them have started talking to me, moved by phone and my WhatsApp. We’ve been engaging.”

While these contacts have come primarily from one side, Austin Gamey remains optimistic that a resolution is achievable within hours if all parties are willing.

“They might be willing. Once they are willing, I guarantee you, it can be resolved within 3 hours.’’

His confidence is rooted in past experiences where he successfully mediated similar disputes, reinforcing his belief in the power of structured, professional mediation.

The Role of the Speaker and Parliamentary Leadership

Austin Gamey clarified his perspective on the Speaker’s role in this issue. According to him, the Speaker’s function is limited to facilitating the discussions.

“To me, the speaker is so much the matter, because the speaker only gives whatever expression that you want to give to it. He has said it.  He’s not a member of parliament. So, he cannot be the one deciding for them.”

He believes that the true resolution lies within the discussions between the parliamentary leaders.

Austin Gamey emphasized the need for parliamentary leaders to approach the Speaker collaboratively, as successful mediation relies on the willingness of all parties to engage in open dialogue.

He expressed optimism about the potential for a positive outcome, remarking, “It has been done before. So, it can always be done.” His experience suggested that with the right facilitation, longstanding issues can be resolved.

A Mediator’s Expertise in Action

Austin Gamey’s confidence in his approach is based on his expertise as a mediator.

According to him, the mediator’s role is not to impose solutions but to guide the parties through stages of dialogue that enable them to understand each other’s perspectives and reach a consensus.

“A mediator who understands the processes to stage them through the stages within some hours,” he asserted, highlighting his unique ability to bring the factions together.

Austin Gamey warned against a simplistic approach to mediation, such as asking parties to apologize without understanding underlying grievances.

Closing Remarks: A Call for Willingness

As a concluding note, Austin Gamey reiterated that he remains available to mediate if both sides are willing to participate in the process.

He remains hopeful that his proposal will be accepted, saying, “I think that they need help, and I’m available if they are willing.” With his professional guidance, he believes that the dispute could be resolved swiftly.

In summary, Austin Gamey’s proposed mediation offers a structured, professional approach to resolving parliamentary disagreements.

His expertise as a labor consultant and mediator positioned him uniquely to facilitate dialogue between the factions.

Through patience and professionalism, Austin Gamey hopes to enable both sides to reach a mutually satisfactory outcome, underscoring the power of a well-organized mediation in addressing complex issues.
