DJ Vyrusky and Jerry Adjorlolo

Ghanaian artiste, producer, and award-winning Disc Jockey, DJ Vyrusky has shared how renowned Master of Ceremony, Jerry Adjorlolo influenced his career.

DJ Vyrusky disclosed that at a point in his career when he was booked for multiple events, he found it difficult playing at all the events as he could not juggle between them simultaneously.

The ‘Broken Heart’ hitmaker revealed that Jerry Adjorlolo then advised him to form a group of DJs to minimize his workload.

“I go collect some two weddings someday and I for balance the two and I was just running in between the event and he [Jerry Adjorlolo] was like bro just form a group of DJs and let people know that these are my boys so when the book you now they know they are your boys. The whole idea was to be able to get more gigs.”

He disclosed that through the initiative, a host of top DJs have emerged citing names like DJ Wallpaper. “There a lot DJs that are big now that they’re going through Vyrusky but nobody knows because I like to also put people on…now look at Wallpaper, he is everywhere,” DJ Vyrusky added.

DJ Vyrusky also shared why Ghana’s music industry is stagnating in terms of growth.

The Artist opined that the industry needs money and more relationships to succeed.

Drawing parallels between the Nigerian music industry, the ‘Broken Heart’ hitmaker said Nigerians have established better connections and relationships among themselves and have the “power to move”.

“I always like to call a spade a spade. We don’t have the money Nigerians have. They move differently because they have the power to move. You need money to move and we are not moving because we don’t have enough money, apart from that we don’t have enough relationships to move.”

DJ Vyrusky mentioned the ungrateful attitude of some Ghanaians which he said affects the relationships among industry persons.

“There’s this thing about some Ghanaians, you push them to the higher places and when they get there, they forget that they are Ghanaians but when you have a Naija person in a space of authority, they make sure people know that there are Nigerians here and invite their people anytime there is opportunity so we need to push a lot of our people to places.”

Ghanaian disc jockey, DJ Vyrusky clarified rumors that he deliberately left out Kuami Eugene’s verse from his new song, Sika.

DJ Vyrusky, whose real name is Kofi Amoako, explained that although there were plans to include Kuami Eugene in the song, he was unavailable during the recording, hence King Paluta’s verse was used instead.
