Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign, has pointed out IMANI Africa’s alleged involvement in the opposition NDC campaign, slamming the action.

He stated that the think tank has recognized the NDC’s agenda is not working, prompting it to step into the political arena itself.

Aboagye further noted that Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has been playing a significant role in the NDC’s communication efforts recently.

NDC Chairman Drops ‘Professor’ Title After GTEC Warning

“Franklin, Ghanaians do not need you to tell them what the incompetent former President will do if they make the mistake of bringing him back. John Mahama has been President before. He came, we saw and remember what he did, what he undid, and what he could not do and would not do.

“As Vice-President and President, he inherited an NHIS with a membership of 12.5 million Ghanaians, by the time he was leaving office, the services and numbers were in a constant decline and membership had reduced to 11.03 million, due to incompetence, lack of care, and confidence, and the total inefficiencies of the managers of the National Health Insurance Scheme”.

Aboagye further highlighted that under the NPP administration, NHIS membership has grown from 11.03 million to 17.5 million.

He criticized John Mahama’s tenure, stating that no new illnesses were added to the NHIS, and Cash & Carry was effectively reinstated.

Aboagye also pointed out that Mahama left Ghanaians with a three-week NHIS renewal delay, leaving many without coverage.

This according to him, failed to fulfill the NDC’s 2008 promise of a one-time health insurance premium payment. “I’m sure you have heard your beloved Mahama talk about another health scheme he is threatening to impose if elected, which is different from the NHIS, right?”

The NPP Communicator stated that if anyone warns Mahama will cancel NHIS, given how he nearly collapsed it and now threatens a new scheme, they are telling the truth. “It is you, Prophet [Franklin] Cudjoe, who is rather speculating against the evidence, you are rather the liar!”

Aboagye stated that John Mahama failed to increase LEAP payments or coverage, leaving beneficiaries hungry and without support for over three years.

He accused Mahama of being an enemy of the poor.

Aboagye also criticized Mahama’s stance on Free SHS, citing a document by former Education Minister Betty Mould that reveals the NDC’s intention to means-test the policy and exclude some students.

He pointed out Mahama’s flip-flopping on the issue, calling him inconsistent and dismissive of Free SHS beneficiaries.

He added that Mahama had previously insulted 5.7 million students and teachers, labeling them fraudsters.

Aboagye claimed that if re-elected, Mahama would make parents pay for their children’s education. “So you see, Franklin, No Ghanaian is waiting for you or Imani Ghana to tell us what Mahama will do and will not do”.

Mahama’s Track Record to Block Comeback

Moreover, Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated that Ghanaians are well aware of what Mahama “did and did not do” during his presidency, and what he has said and done as a candidate.

He emphasized that the masses, especially women and young voters, are fearful of their future under Mahama.

Aboagye argued that if Mahama could not deliver in his first term, there is little reason to believe he will do so in 2024 when he would no longer be accountable to voters after 2028.

mahama and bawumia meet

“You remember when you thought these general elections were a mere formality; a foregone matter for your beloved, incompetent former president? You remember when you and your paddies said, NPP nominating Dr Bawumia would make it a cool chop for you and your beloved Mahama?

“Well, your biggest mistake was to assume, like Mahama, that Ghanaians have short memories. Your next big mistake was to underrate Dr Bawumia. I dare you to do the tale of the two tapes: Mahama vs Bawumia. On two things p3! Integrity and Competence. Both men have their respective track records”.

Aboagye further stated that despite Dr. Bawumia never being President, his track record as Vice President speaks volumes.

According to him, the Vice President is focused, hardworking, solution-oriented, and not corrupt.

The NPP Communicator expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia will win the 2024 election, shocking those who believe Mahama’s eight years in opposition will guarantee him victory.

He added that Bawumia is the only candidate offering clear policies to address Ghana’s issues, unlike Mahama, who Aboagye claims will either collapse or introduce means testing for Free SHS, ultimately harming the masses.

He further emphasized that Ghanaians are discerning and will not be swayed by empty promises. “Brace yourself for impact, Franklin, grab your oxygen mask before attempting to help others…”

Aboagye warned that Franklin Cudjoe’s efforts to support Mahama would not succeed.

He emphasized that Mahama would lose because Ghanaians know his track record and fear he will worsen conditions if given another term. “He [Mahama] will set back the current impressive economic recovery and kill off the social interventions we must protect and enhance”.
