Police Cautions Public to Desist from Violence, 89 Suspects Arrested

Grace Ansah Akrofi, Assistant Commissioner of Police

The role of the police in ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections cannot be overstated. As guardians of law and order, the Ghana Police Service has continuously reassured the nation of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and the democratic process ahead of this year’s polls.

By positioning itself as a neutral arbiter and a firm enforcer of electoral laws, the police have sought to build public confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.

Their early assurances of safety and security signal not only their readiness but also their dedication to protecting the sanctity of Ghana’s democracy amidst a politically charged atmosphere.
