Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has strongly emphasized the pressing need for an immediate audit of the energy sector, which he identifies as a major and potentially destabilizing risk to the country’s economy.

He argued that a thorough examination of this sector is crucial for understanding its challenges and ensuring that it does not undermine economic progress.

According to Dankwah, taking swift action to assess the energy sector’s health and operations is vital for protecting the nation’s economic future and mitigating any negative consequences.

“Dear Hon John Abdulai Jinapor, can you please respond to Herbert Krapa, so we will know where the truth lies, because, it is barely 24 hours since they handed over the energy sector to your government.

“Krampa has provided some details and you need to tell us it isn’t true by way of evidence.  But Krampa should also put out figures on stocks the government has and what has been ordered, if any, and how long do we expect the stock to last”.

Mussa Dankwah

Dankwah observed that if dumsor resurfaces in the coming days, Ghanaians will have a clear understanding of who is responsible for the situation.

He emphasized the importance of not allowing the market to fall into unnecessary panic, as it could create further instability and confusion.

He urged stakeholders to manage the situation carefully to prevent undue fear and maintain confidence in the economy.

Dankwah further asserted that if the looming threat of dumsor proves to be true, especially following the exit of the NPP and the transition to a new government, those accountable should face serious consequences.

He suggested that individuals responsible should be charged with dereliction of public duty and for causing financial loss to the state.

According to Dankwah, such failures to address critical infrastructure issues in a timely manner should not be tolerated, as they severely impact the nation’s economy and the well-being of its citizens.

Mensah Slams NPP for Attempting to Blame New Govt for Dumsor

Additionally, Prof. Kobby Mensah, a Political Marketing Strategist, criticized the NPP administration for the looming threat of dumsor, accusing them of attempting to shift blame.

He expressed his frustration, calling them “sore losers” for what he perceived as an unjust attempt to leave the new government to bear the responsibility for a power crisis that was not of their making.

Mensah pointed out the absurdity of expecting the newly inaugurated administration, which had barely been in power for 9 hours, to be held accountable for a situation that had been allowed to deteriorate under the previous government’s watch.

He emphasized that such actions were not only unfair but also counterproductive to the country’s progress.

“Adenta is pitch black out and it’s because of the complete madness and incompetence of an outgoing administration. SHAME!

“One lesson in Ghana leadership. Don’t take people’s words at face value. People, regardless of their statuses in Ghana, can lie mercilessly. Eii!! Ghana”

Meanwhile, Kofi Asare, the Executive Director of Eduwatch Africa, added his voice to the increasing public demand for greater accountability in the energy sector.

He emphasized the importance of transparency in addressing the challenges facing the sector, urging those in charge to provide clear and honest information about its current state.

Asare’s support for this call reflects the growing concern among citizens and experts alike about the need for urgent reforms to ensure the sector operates effectively and serves the nation’s best interests.

According to him, it is crucial to know how much fuel is left in stock, how long it will last before depletion, and when the next consignment of fuel is expected to arrive.

He stressed that these are straightforward matters that require clear, concise answers, without unnecessary complexity or lengthy explanations.

Asare pointed out that providing this information is essential for transparency and effective management of the energy sector.
