The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a directive urging all party members, stakeholders, and sympathizers to align their efforts with the mandate of the 2024 Election Review Committee (ERC) in assessing and addressing the party’s performance in the December 2024 general elections.
The statement, signed by William Yamoah, Secretary of the ERC, emphasized the importance of a unified, transparent, and consistent approach to reviewing election-related activities across the country.
“We have observed on various social media platforms that individuals, groups, and some regional executive committees have issued notices to deploy teams to investigate D- Day operations in their respective constituencies.
“While we appreciate the intent to evaluate and improve operational efficiency, we respectfully remind individuals, groups, and all Regional Executive Committees of the 2024 Election Review Committee, which the National Council established for such reviews.”
William Yamoah, Secretary, 2024 Election Review Committee
The ERC was established by a resolution of the National Council on January 2, 2025, as the sole entity authorized to conduct a comprehensive review of all election-related matters.
This, according to the statement includes the party’s performance on Election Day (D-Day) and the effectiveness of its campaign strategies.
While the ERC expressed its appreciation to various levels of the party with the intent to evaluate and improve operational efficiency, it warned that such independent efforts could lead to duplications, inconsistencies, and conflicts with the party’s broader objectives.
Key Directives to Party Members and Committees
The ERC outlined specific instructions to ensure a streamlined and effective review process including the call for the cessation of independent investigations. Here, the statement called for all regional-level investigations into D-Day operations and election-related matters to be halted immediately to prevent conflicts with the ERC’s mandate.

The statement further urged regional and constituency executive committees, as well as other groups to channel relevant information or recommendations to the ERC through appropriate structures.
Lastly, the statement called on party members to focus on supporting the ERC’s work to ensure comprehensive and effective outcomes.
The ERC also encouraged professional associations and groups within the party to deliberate on the underlying causes of the NPP’s electoral performance and submit thoughtful recommendations via memoranda.
Dedicated Research Desk for Data Collection
In a bid to enhance the review process, the statement noted that ERC has established a dedicated research desk tasked with collecting and analyzing data, including information from various social media platforms.
This initiative aims to ensure that the committee’s work is informed by comprehensive and accurate data.
The statement highlighted the ERC’s commitment to transparency and discipline, urging all party members to adhere to the established structures to avoid potential misinterpretations of intent or authority.
“By adhering to the established structures, we can maintain party discipline and avoid potential misinterpretations of intent or authority at any level. We are confident that the 2024 Election Review Committee will deliver actionable recommendations for the party’s future success, and we urge all party members to align their efforts in support of this unified approach”.
William Yamoah, Secretary, 2024 Election Review Committee
The ERC reiterated its pledge to identify and address all obstacles that impacted the party’s 2024 election performance.
It expressed confidence in delivering a report that would serve as a blueprint for strengthening the party’s structures, strategies, and grassroots engagement ahead of future elections.
This unified approach, the ERC believes, will not only maintain party discipline but also foster the collective momentum needed to rebuild and refocus the NPP for greater success.
